Wine All-in-One For Dummies Review: Not Just For Dummies - I actually consider myself pretty knowledgeable about wine (certainly not a dummy), but I was suprised at how much I learned from this book! This is a very comprehensive book that cleared up many of my misconceptions about wine. One of the big and simple things I learned - I've been storing and serving my wine too cold - and accordingly missing a lot of complexity and flavor. The book has a detailed overview of the European wine regions. I am a California wine fan, and knew little about French and Italian regions. Now I can go to the wine shop with some confidence and expand my wine horizons. The book also uses very easy to navigate icons that highlight various aspects of the wine under discussion. The book covers everything about wine - from how it is grown, how to pair it with food, how to store it, to how to buy it in a restaurant. It is written in an unpretentous and funny style that is entertaining to read. It is also helpful in instructing how to order wine in a restaurant - which can sometimes be daunting, Overall a great book that taught me a lot! One recommendation. I bought the Kindle edition - and wish I had bought the actual book, as it becomes more of a reference book and it would be easier to access in paper. Review: Book helps me sound like I know more about the wine than I do. - I usually explore different wines and read about them before I purchase them. I am trying to hone in on the regions I like best so I can purchase more of what I like. This book is very helpful, and I would definitely recommend buying it.

Great for who is starting from scratch
I just started to read about wines and found that this book can give a great introduction to the wine world. It is quite long, but it is an easy reading and has some very helpful and funny comparisons. Lacks some pictures and beauty (as do all "for dummies" books), but overall has lots of information and even includes suggestions for trying some wines. I would recommemd it

Great gift idea
I tried to be romantic and gave this to my girlfriend as a gift along with a wine night. She loved it! We did not know anything about wine and the book goes over the basics of everything from the actual making of wine to how to properly drink it. It goes into a lot more depth than I was expecting and I think the book does a great job to set you up into really getting into wines.
