I’ve been a huge fan of Ed Emberley’s books since I was a kid, and now my own kids have gone through his books and are grown. You’ll need a stamp pad and a couple nice pens, and beyond that just a little creative imagination. Most of the ideas are pretty simple, but they are cute and clever and fun. It’s also just great to have a family activity that can cover a huge range of ages — little kids through grandparents — where everyone’s having a good time off their screens and enjoying being creative.

This is actually such a great thing for kids of all ages. I was so impressed with the simple word directions the AMAZING creativity and the mastery it offers young children. I taught for years and am passionate about offering children ways to express their feelings and feel successful in what they can accomplish without being a child prodigy. Every kid has the potential to love grow and help others do that same...I love gifted kids too but I value every kid! This is a great starter art center for the home that is too afraid of paint or paper mache and goo. Easy clean up, mastery and fun...and no hassle for parents. I actually wrote Mr. Emberly to ask how I might give him credit for a project I am doing and his team wrote me back within an hour telling me they were glad this was going to help! He was actually very prolific in his working life and the fingerprint art is HIS idea, not anyone else's (shame on the youtubers not giving him credit as they collect money for demonstrating this method. )His other work doesn't look the same as his art is very eclectic. We use this book at work to create inspirational cards for coworkers. Was so simple and easy to use, I bought one as a christmas gift for our grandchild. Loves it!

My daughter was invited to a 5 year old birthday party of a classmate who loves artwork! We purchased this book along with the FingerPrinting Art Set and Melissa and Doug 6 Color Stamp Pad. The gift was a hit! A lot of the others mom's wanted to know where we purchased from as it was out of the norm and cannot be found out our local retail chain stores. I love finding unique and creative gifts and this book not only inspires for stamping, but also with drawing pictures. Definitely something kids will have fun with!

This provides hours of fun and creativity for visiting grandkids. Probably best for ages 4-6

My children (7 and 4 years old) LOVE this book! It is really catered to young children as the pictures are simple for them to follow. They use it independently for HOURS! And their drawings come out so cute. This book also has helped them to learn to create new creations because they have learned to experiment on their own. Even better, I have fun making these creations with the kids. It's so fun to transform your finger print into an animal or person and to see the happiness in your children's faces when they proudly show your their drawings is priceless! =) One of the best purchases I have made for arts and crafts - would highly recommend to anyone who have young children (and adults who are kids at heart) in their lives!

Our family just got this book and it has already become a favorite. The projects are easy to complete and it is easy to get good results. I know that some kids get very upset when they can't recreate drawing projects exactly as pictured in a book. That is no problem here! Nothing has to be copied exactly and the projects can act as a springboard to completely independent work. It's novel fingerprint approach adds to its charm and really draws kids in. There are so many different types of drawings (animals, landscapes, etc.) that almost everyone should find something that makes them grab a stamp pad and a pen! I'd recommend this book for all ages four and up. It's so much fun that parents will enjoy these activities, too!

Hätte mir nicht gedacht, daß meine 3 Kinder (zw. 6-12 Jahre), es tatsächlich so oft in den Händen haben und sich künstlerisch betätigen! Der Nachteil ist, daß wir inzwischen einen Stappel wunderschöner Werke hier haben u. wissen nicht, wo man sie aufhängen könnte (vielleicht doch eine Ausstellung daraus machen??). Das Buch selbst (wie auch andere Bücher v. Emberley) ist einfach u. sehr verständnisvoll aufgebaut, so daß auch wirklich jeder damit innerhalb kürzerster Zeit zurechtkommt. Und es ist in der Tat erstaunlich, daß man mit fast schon primitivsten Mitteln so schnell so schöne Bilder "malen" kann! Nicht nur für kreative Kinder eine absolute Kaufempfehlung!

Bought this book for my mums craft shelf. She has all the grandchildren during the week after school. The age ranges are from 6-13 and they all love it. Such simple ideas that look great. So pleased and easy to do.

i bought this for my 3yr old (and if i admit, it, for myself). we have had fun making the prints. i sometimes have my kids do the prints then i add faces and turn them into cards for far away relatives. The cards are a big hit. I look forward to my daughter doing this more on her own now that she is older.

I bought this book as I couldn't find a thumbprint craft kit. My 6 year old granddaughter opened up a box with the book and a variety of ink pads and paper, threw her arms around my neck and said she loved it. It hasn't been used yet but the diagrams are basic and clear and she will be able to use it to make thumbprint and ink drawings.
