Seitenbacher Vegan Burger Mix, 17.90 Ounce

Delicious! I had two burgers yesterday and was very pleased with the taste and texture. I thought it would be like a seitan product I had back in the early 1990s, but thankfully it's not. The only drawback is the fairly high fat content. I'll buy this again.

I absolutely love this mix. Rather than making burgers I make small balls and fry them up in a pan. It results in a great consistency and flavor that serves well over rice. Will definitely purchase this again.

Good flavor, but you have to be gentle when you cook/fry it. It can be a bit dry, so add some olive oil or something. If you make patties, make sure to press them very thin and fry slowly, otherwise they get hard quickly. I eat them with mashed potatoes and a little bit of salsa, and they taste great.

I’ll come back to edit after cooking, but here to say the bag is lacking information! First, the instructions say 1 cup of mix + 1/2 cup water, but doesn’t say how many patties it’s supposed to make! Second, the nutrition label is based on 2.5 tbsp, yet 1 cup of mix is 16 tbsp, and 16 divided by 2.5 equals 6.4, so that math means the mixing instructions makes 6.4 patties. What??? So I need to know (1) how many patties are the instructions on the package supposed to produce, and (2) exactly what are the nutrition numbers for each of those, because providing numbers for 2.5 tbsp mean nothing IF A PATTY USES A DIFFERENT AMOUNT!

This made the BEST vegetarian cheeseburger ever!! The frozen ones (Morning Star Farms) that I usually get have gotten so expensive; decided to try this instead. There is only me, so I make just one big burger at a time. I chill it first, because I have found the longer I leave it in frig, the better. (Usually several hours). Then, fry it in a little hot oil, add some Swiss Cheese to melt on top and have it on toasted rye bread with lots of lettuce or kale, red onion and a few bread and butter pickles, with Thousand Island dressing plus sometimes mayo as a spread. Couldn't have been more impressed. I found these incredibly flavorful. The batter gets thicker the longer it sits, so don't get impatient! Considering how many I can make from this one bag, it is a done deal!

I was skeptical (dry powder burger mix?) but OH WOW the flavor is so good!!!!

Appears to be a nutritional product. Good size for money. Sorry, I'm sensitive to this item,had to discard. Taste ok.
