Are the holes small enough to rinse and strain rice without grains getting stuck?

The holes are large enough so that uncooked Rice COULD slip through them, though it would probably take an unlikely positioning of the individual grains of Rice to do so.

What is this made of? Is it pba free?

I believe it is heavy plastic. Really good and convenient strainer. Bought it for gifts for my friends, and they use theirs all the time.
