Use these for pretty much everything. It might be a bit overkill for some applications but they seem to last a pretty long time. They're designed for painting / VOCs, but work super well for dust as well. I used both these on a respirator and a N95 for some recent demolition work, and the 95 had a bit of dust build up around the sides near the mouth (I have some slight facial hair, which seems to create a small gap for n95 masks). Switched over to these and no problem / no dust around the face. Great product, and certified quality.

Used these while putting down stain, sealer, and three coats of poly on my hardwood floors. Filters were a little tricky to line up but once they were securely fastened they're perfect. I didn't notice any odor or suffer any ill-effects from extended exposure (~6 hours at a time, over a week) to Minwax oil based stain and Duraseal 550 VOC oil based polyurethane. The first filter I had opened about 2 months ago for another project using foam sealer in a confined space (no issues) and it seemed to give out before I did my last coat of poly (I could smell it through the mask). I didn't do a great job of keeping it airtight so that's probably why it didn't last longer. Affordable and easy to use, could even help to prevent serious health issues. It's well worth the money.

My husband needed this item. It came quickly. It was exactly what he needed.

Through the course of my employment, I have occasionally had to work with decomposing bodies. Anyone who has experienced it knows exactly what the very strong and terrible smell is like. After a particularly bad experience, I finally decided to try a respirator. I tried these cartridges, as decomposition is organic and these are rated for organic odors. I tried them at the next opportunity that presented itself. They worked amazingly. The only time I caught the odor is when I occasionally moved the wrong way and caused a small break in the seal of the mask. As long as the mask has a solid tight seal, these work perfectly. I’d highly recommend these cartridges for Firefighters, Law Enforcement Officers, Medical Examiners, and anyone else who needs to work in those conditions.

Seems to work well for IPA fumes. It’s a little awkward to screw the cartridges into the slots.

Unlike the pre-filters and retainers, we only use 3M for our actual cartridges. We work in attics and crawlspaces every day doing insulation work and clean healthy air is a must for employee safety. With the combination of pre-filters we are able to get almost a month out of a pair of cartridges so the value over time is exceptional. For those who may consider an off brand, don't do it. It's not worth the risk. Another important thing, do not buy this type of filter with the built in pre-filter as it will not last nearly as long. Since you cannot replace a built in pre-filter you will maybe get a week out of it if used for a normal work week. This filter with the option for a separate pre-filter is the way to go.

Works as expected. Good to use when dealing with any kind of nasty vapour including regular household cleaning products. No reason to breathe that stuff in when this is available.
