Allen Company Daytona Soft Shotgun & Rifle Case

I needed a straight forward soft case for a new rifle. I don't like those techni-cool cases with all the pockets, straps and fancy do-dads. It's just too much. I tend to carry ammo in ammo carriers and loose gear in a small duffle, so I just didn't need a big fancy case. This is just perfect. A couple pockets for a bore sighter, an extra magazine and whip-down rag is all I really need (I could put a box of ammo in there if needed). I use this for a Tikka TX3, a Leupold 3-9x50 scope with a mini Reflex on the side. This set-up fit's perfect; I even have room for small muzzle brake if I wanted to add that. The outer fabric seems like really good quality, zippers are excellent and interior fabric is nice and soft. This is an amazingly good value; you won't be disappointed.

Excellent shotgun case. It holds my O/U with 30" barrels perfectly. Plenty of storage pockets to hold the choke tubes, ear plugs, and glasses. It's very well built. I like that it also has an adjustable shoulder strap that I use as much as the handles to transport it to and from my pickup.

The build quality is top notch. No frayed threads hanging out. The zippers all work easily without binding. The pockets are large enough to hold a couple tools and chokes for my A400 X-Cell Multitarget.

I bought this case so that I would have something to transport a very long rifle (51", I bought the 52" version) into the woods on hikes and camping trips. The positives: made of good material, is pretty durable, the interior padding is nice and you can get it long enough to accommodate just about any scoped long gun. It also looks good and the adjustable shoulder strap is definitely a bonus. The price point for something like this is definitely a bonus, it's a good-quality bag for $30 which is hard to beat. Great for the range. The negatives: The case has a few pockets but they're all pretty small and tight. You're not going to fit much in them except maybe a box or two of ammo and some paper targets if you fold them up, so if you want to go on relatively long hikes or camping trips with some extras like snacks and food and other supplies it might be better to buy one of the bigger bags with more spacious pockets. The mesh pocket on the outside will also probably rip the moment it snags something. Overall good for transporting or keeping in a truck or something like that, or for range trips, not so great for longer excursions. Still, don't get me wrong - if that's what you're looking for it definitely fits the bill and does it for a great price.

After much buyer's hesitation due to some other reviews here on Amazon, I can gladly report I'm very pleased with this soft case! I bought this as a home for my Weihrauch HW97, a $500 airgun with $120 scope (so protection was key). Padding material offers adequate protection and feels durable. I would compare the outer skin to that of a winter jacket, like a Carharrt. Feels tough. The pockets are well designed, well placed, and useful. Love the added touches of the mesh pocket (you can see what's in it, quick access), the solid finger loop attached to the zipper (makes zip/unzip a breeze), and being able to Velcro together the two halves of the handle, like a duffle bag. It's these tiny details that really make the difference. I use an Allen case for my pistol as well and they seem to hit a great "value-for-price" sweet spot. My only gripe is that there's only one zipper, so you must zip all the way from one end to the other if you want to fully open/close the case. Not a huge deal though, especially given the price. I can easily fit my HW97 in this case with a 3x9 scope attached no issues (see photos). Keep in mind this rifle has a pistol grip, and measures slightly over 9" from bottom of pistol grip to top of scope. So it's no "mini" gun whatsoever. Still confused over some of the other reviews here that say the case won't fit a scoped rifle. It certainly does. Overall, it's a great case and I'd highly recommend it if you're in the market for a softy!

Great case for the price. Has lots of storage in the pockets and seems to be very durable. Much better than anything available locally at the price point.

This bag has many pockets that can hold choke tubes gloves, pretty useful bag. the sling is black thought it would be color matched to the bag.
