Clairol Natural Instincts Demi-Permanent Hair Dye, 5BZ Medium Bronze Brown Hair Color, Pack of 3

My natural hair color is dark auburn. At 50+ much of it is sprinkled with gray now (hence the need for color). In an effort to save money as well as protect my hair from becoming too damaged I thought I would try using box color in between salon visits. This is a very nice, gentle hair color. It covers my grays well although they do turn out a bit lighter than the rest of my hair. I follow the directions and color the grays and roots first then comb thru to the ends for the last few minutes. Be careful not to leave on your ends too long as they will turn out much darker than the rest of your hair. The scent isn't overwhelming and chemically like other coloring products. The coverage usually lasts about 2-3 weeks before I start seeing fading and new growth of gray hairs popping out. This color is a nice warm, medium auburn on top of my natural dark auburn and gray hair. Not brassy or red - red. Overall I am very happy with it. It's easy to apply and the price is good too.

The color is very good, but it will not cover the white hair, and it is also very convenient to use.The price is right and the smell is good.

This covered a spotty bleach job with blue chunks! All of it turned the same color brown! Seriously.

Decided to try Medium Bronze Brown shade which is the closest to my natural shade, except for the silver/white strands that began showing a few years ago.I do understand the disappointment that many of you feel in the new "improved" formula. It is a bit itchy and there is somewhat of a chemical sting after keeping this on my hair for 15-20 min.Rinsing it out?! Good luck!! After rinsing for 10 minutes in the shower I still felt residue on my hair. And found brown splotches in the tile and grout EVERYWHERE. It even slightly stained the skin around my hairline. Thank Goodness I used an old towel and wore an old tee shirt.And the conditioner?! Yuck! It made my hair look and feel greasy. And that greasy look lasted a couple of days!Now it's a week later. And at work the other day, 3 people complimented my hair and said it looks soft and shiny with beautiful highlights! And while running errands yesterday, a lady approached me and told me, "I love your hair!"Mixed Emotions on this one...Overall it's still a very good product. Can't beat the price. It certainly didn't damage my hair.I purchased a pack of 3 and plan to keep using. Will just skip the conditioner and continue to wear old stuff because those stains cannot be removed from fabric!
