Great Value for Shop Use
Johnsen’s DOT-4 brake fluid delivers exactly what I expect from a premium synthetic blend. I’ve used it across multiple brake jobs—cars, trucks, and even a motorcycle—and it holds up under heat and pressure without fade or sponginess. Pedal feel stays firm, and response is immediate. The 1-gallon size is perfect for shop use or full system flushes, and the fluid pours clean with no sludge or discoloration. It meets all DOT-4 specs and blends well with existing fluid when topping off. No leaks, no compatibility issues, and no surprises. If you’re looking for reliable brake fluid that performs under load and doesn’t break the bank, this is a solid choice. I’ll keep it stocked for future jobs.

Good Product/Good Price
Time for brake flush on the RE INT650. It seems to be quality, I do not have a track bike so I do not push it to its limits. Good braking, no fade, firm brakes. I flush my brakes once a year and this fluid seems to be my new go to for replacing my brake fluid. Price is good for size of bottle compared to other brands. When testing my fluid it still seems to be good but I service my vehicles religiously.

Seems like quality brake fluid
My only beef and the reason why I am not giving it 5 stars is truth in advertising. The image of the product clearly shows that this is "Dot 4" brake fluid. The bottle arrived and it has a different label which indicates "Dot 3/4" brake fluid. Now, there might not be a difference, but I feel the label of the product you receive should match what is sold. However, the brake fluid went into the car properly and it stops. So it performs as it should. If the 470 degree boiling point is right, then awesome.

Jug of brake fluid!
Great value, this is a huge jug! Came well packaged and not leaking! Time will tell on how durable it is and how long it will last but I assume that it will perform under operating temperatures as intended!

Seems like good stuff to me
I like that it comes in a 1 gal quantity because I had a full system to flush and bleed. Also, I have noticed some reviewers complain that they were cheated because the label says "DOT 3+4" and they think this means that the product is a mixture of DOT 3 and DOT 4. This is mistaken. The difference between DOT3 and DOT4 is the 4 has a slightly higher boiling point which will help resist heat fade. However, the DOT 4 often comes labeled as 3+4 because the two are cross compatible, meaning that if you have a brake system that takes DOT3, it's OK to put DOT4 into it, and it's OK to add DOT 4 to the system as a top off. Now when it comes to DOT 5, that is a silicone fluid that is not cross compatible and should never be added to a DOT 3 or DOT 4 system. So the DOT 3+4 product is actually the DOT4 spec, it is not a blend. If you want the full DOT4 boiling point then you must totally flush your system with all DOT 4, and if you add DOT4 to a quantity of DOT3 fluid you won't get the full boiling point but the compatibility is OK.
