These are about the best thing that you could throw into your purse (or murse:) and take with you (to work, school, any outing). It's not going to be as effective as a full-on teeth-brushing, but it's not supposed to be. You can use them anytime, anywhere, but I might go in a bathroom, and wipe my teeth with the one of the 'ridged' sides for about a minute. It says to 'optionally wet it," but I've been using them dry. Once you start rubbing them over your teeth (in swirls, up & down), your mouth will produce enough saliva (not TOO much), but enough to pretty quickly moisten the foam thing, and make it work better. After ab. 30 secs, I turn it over to the opposite ridged, clean side, for the next 30 secs or so. Great for after a meal, to freshen up, get any loose food out of your teeth. Works better than a toothpick, in my opinion. I think they should start maybe giving them 2-3 different flavors, like mint, etc.. And would be SUPER if they could come come sort of pre-moistened. But like I said, dry is fine, and does the job. Takes a few times to get used to the feel, and to get better with what technique dislodges any food/gunk in your teeth. The individ. plastic package is sturdy, and won't just easily rip open in your purse or bag. You might get a small rubber band, & wrap it around 10 or so (5 going one way, 5 the other), then throw it in your bag; use after eating when you can't brush. Might also be useful to use one, then swish around a mouthful or two of water or mouthwash, the spit or swallow that, to get rid of any food that you were "saving for later." Ha..

I use them to clean a Lary tube (laryngectomy tube). I do this three to five times a day. The swabs with a paper handle deteriorate after one use. These are FANTASTIC with a plastic handle and the sponge is is larger and works perfectly. They are far better and are multi-use. I can use one all day, and with care two days EASILY. I bought 150 thinking 30-90 days worth of use. Surprise, they'll go all 150 days and more.
