Installed the RedTop in my weekend project car, an older model that doesn't see daily use. Initial impressions? Solid. The cold starts have been noticeably quicker, even after sitting idle for weeks. The build quality seems up to par with the premium you pay, and installation was straightforward with the included instructions and adapters. Haven't had the chance to put it through extreme conditions yet, but so far, it's living up to expectations. If it holds up over the next few years as my last battery did, it'll be worth the investment. Only time will tell, but for now, it's performing as advertised.

My last Optima Red Top lasted 8 years in my 2001 V8 Grand Cherokee. It recently developed a bulge on top and did not hold much charge/got weak but after 8 years I cannot fault the battery it did a great job and never left me stranded and always had reserve power to run the stereo etc with the engine off from time to time. So I checked Amazon and found the same battery to replace my old one. Hope for another 8 years. When I sell the Jeep I will be keeping my Optima. I also have a Optima Blue Top deep cycle in my boat and it was bought in 2007 and still takes a full charge and works great. Optima is the best battery for the best cost hands down. People who are having issues with them are not using the correct charger or charging at too fast a rate. Never charge a Optima over 10 amps slower is better 6 amps or less is preferred and only use a charger designed for AGM batteries. Never discharge a Optima all the way down and you won't have issues.

Put this in Subaru Forester. Fit fine with slight plastic under pan adjustment due to longer length. I did buy an oversize battery so don't consider that a down check. Came almost fully charged which I topped off with a Battery Tender charger. Has worked flawlessly for a couple of months. I know some people seem to have a problem with these, but mine is fine. Now if it lasts for many years, I will be pleased. Car starts quickly every time. Compared to local auto stores this price was 2/3. Make sure you are aware of the Amazon on line warranty support. You cannot take this to a local auto store if there is a problem.

Battery lasted 6 months. Won't hold charge. Defective, charged with special AGM charger, shows Defective. 3 year warranty doesn't apply because Amazon is not an authorized dealer.
