Review: This is a so well written book, both entertaining as well as lucid, for either a laymen or a scholar who wants to recap on how different subjects of science came to be. Easy to read and remarkable informative despite the very short chapters that cover different sciences. Not an easy balancing task that was well achieved by the author. Review: Very easy to read and interesting for a non scientific layman but above all excellent and entertaining reading for young people. It's written as a parallel to Gombrich's 'A Little History of the World' which is also very well worth reading.

This writer doesn't seem very travelled or mentally alert, he waffles alot, it seems to be written for very young primary school children and he doesn't even seem to grasp half of the concepts he talks about because his language is so overly simplistic. A real displeasure to read as every sentence just seems a waste of time.
