I am planning to use a hand to remove swirls from my car. do I use microfiber towel to rub against swirl spot or is there specific towel?

This is not intended for using with a towel, just polishers (as you van notice on label's picture). Even when using any car products, use with pads, specially microfiber pads, they are for apllying qnd then after a couple of minutes you use a microfiber towel to remove the product.For removing swirls you MUST use a cutting products(this onde is, a light onde - notice the scale on the photo). If you have no experience on using a polisher i recommend watching the AMMONYC channel on YouTube (learned a lit there).Good luck!

what does a dark shine mean? i have a light honey burst guitar that i want to remove the swirl marks from. does this discolour the finish?

There's a "grit" to this, as you polish you make smaller and smaller scratches. If you've ever seen a "wet sand" application, the first step, or largest grit leaves a hazy light-ish sort of fog on the surface. It's refracting light in a manner that appears whiter than the color underneath. So... in essence the dark shine makes the final appearance look like a deeper gloss, literally like it's under deeper clear water than the scuffed up hazy one. I imagine you're talking about the sunburst style finish on some classic looking sunburst style (like the fender guitars) The dark portions will appear darker and more vibrant on the honey colors. You'll notice much more on the dark than the honey shades. Think black car shine, you can see yourself, but an equally shiny white car not so much

In Meguiar’s lineup, does this product fall in between their compound a polish, or is it less abrasive than their polish?

That would be impossible to compare without a direct comparison of two specific products but generally speaking this is a mild cleaner/polish. It would be less aggressive than a compound but does have some very mild ability to remove minor defects. Also keep in mind that the method of application (hand, orbital, DA, rotary) plays a part in how aggressive it is.

Looking for a swirl remover that i can buff guitars with. Looking for a mirror finish will this product work?

Dan Erlewine recommends this in the Guitar Player Repair Guide. Erlewine is an expert on guitar repairs. So if he says it works, it works. I used this on a small section of my electric guitar and I'm pleased with the results. My only problem is that the product comes in a 16 oz bottle, which is excessive for me because I'm not in the guitar refinishing business.
