Rubies The Wizard of Oz: Dorothy Costume for Adults, Women's Standard

My daughter is playing Dorothy in her school play so we needed a good costume. This outfit is perfect. Not too short. Not sexy at all. She normally wears a girl's 14 or xxs adult so we bought the XS. 5'1" tall and 90 lbs. Very similar to the movie version of Wizard of Oz. Some comments on other comments: Yes the crinoline is scratchy but she is wearing shorts and a nude camisole underneath so it is fine. Also the neck fits perfectly but if someone needed more room, possibly the velcro could be moved. The back is a thinner material but it is not see-through. The only weird thing is the straps are way too loose. They are for show and not needed so I am just going to take a sewing tuck on each side to keep them flat. Probably loose for different sized chests. Definitely a good value. If you want to look like Dorothy, this is the outfit for you.

This is a great Dorothy costume! The dress is all one piece and decent quality, especially for the price. I bought the standard size and it fit well, maybe a little extra room to spare (normally I am a size 8). Note that the skirt is a little on the shorter side but still a decent length. There is stiff fabric under the skirt to make it stand out a bit, and where it gathers at the waistline, this is a bit itchy so plan to wear something under. I wore white leggings underneath which worked well. Another note that the hair "bows" are actually ribbons that you have to tie yourself. Overall, a cute costume and I got a lot of compliments!

Full disclosure, I am a man, so not a plus size woman but I’m 6’4” and ~260lbs, chest/bust size is 46” and my waist is 38” so take this into account with my review. Starting with costume quality, I was really surprised by how nice it was and comfortable. I got this for an Oz themed improv show I was hosting and truly was really comfortable the whole time. Regarding the fit, it wasn’t bad at all, considering my size/build. The length is good, I was showing a decent amount of thigh, but I am 6’4”. The stomach area fit well and I’ve got a robust abdomen, colloquially called a dad bod. I had trouble closing it on the back just due to general width of chest/shoulder areas but with two safety pins, we were good. NOW, the arms. I don’t know what noodley appendages they had in mind when making this, but certainly not larger size. The arm holes are tiny, I had to make several cuts on the sleeve just to accommodate my arms. I’m also not built like a purebred Clydesdale, so it’s not like I was trying to fit a hot dog through a peephole. Overall, nice costume, sleeve openings are small.

I love this costume for being both cute and accurate to the movie, but the fit is definitely weird. I'm 5'2"/135lbs and opted for the Standard size. It was a good length and fits well in most parts, but there are some awkward fitting areas I've listed below: - The straps are loose in the front and back due to being sewed in at the shoulder - The "shirt" (actually white fabric sewed into the dress) has way too lose of a collar and the sleeves are very tight - The slip underneath is made out of a mesh-like material that is extremely scratchy. Overall not bad for under $30, but be prepared to do some kind altering if you want to make it comfortable and more flattering.

I wore this for Halloween this past year. The material was nice. It created a thickness since the top is layered and the skirt was layered to give it a good floof. The quality was good and it fit well on my arms sometimes costumes are tight on the arms, but I didn’t have that problem with this. It went up on the neck as pictured. I paired it with two braids, red heels, and a bunch of blush. I got endless compliments on how much I looked like the character. I also got this on a great sale, so for me what I paid was definitely worth the price.

Straps were too big and twisted. One size fits most. If you are petite you will swim in this. Also the Velcro in the back won’t stay.

It was perfect! I got so many complements on it.

Lovely Cotton Dorothy Dress Great Value for money. Need To were something on your Legs because the underneath skirt is so hard & prickly apart from that I would highly recommend this costume thanks supplier Excellent service arrived before time 10/10

I'd give it zero starts as it is not even close to the size it said it would be. I even used a sewing tape to measure myself, then ordered larger i cannot fit the dress on at all. Did you send me the wrong size?
