Kupiłem nowy obiektyw, a otrzymałem zakurzony z niedomkniętym kapslem i kurzem na soczewkach oraz zabrudzeniami na obudowie. Na szczęście nie ma żadnych rys, ale widać wyraźnie, że to obiektyw po zwrocie.

By any standards this Canon standard zoom is a remarkable little lens. A few pictures of my brick wall and a newspaper tacked to my fence show that it's extremely sharp at all apertures with almost no softening at the corners. A tremendous achievement in a budget lens, made possible by the new mirrorless RF mount. It's small, light and cheap, and the minor but inevitable distortion and colour aberations are fully corrected in the camera body. Penny pinching by Canon means that you don't get a case or lens hood, but third party replacements are cheap enough to buy online. Also, being such a small lens the downside is that the maximum aperture is quite limited at f/4 to f/7.1, but apparently the new Canon sensors are so good that you can readily increase the ISO rating with no appreciable loss in quality. I certainly had no problems and produced crystal clear test pictures brimming with colour. It has a close focus 1:2 macro facility, effective 5-stop image stabilisation and Canon's proprietary multi-use control ring. For me the standard zoom range is ideal too, from 24mm wide angle to 105mm short telephoto. This budget lens is a real winner, and if you're only going to take one lens with you, this superb little RF zoom is it. Highly recommended. Note: I had an unhappy experience buying mine through a dodgy Amazon dealer, so if the sale price looks too good to be true, read the small print before you buy.

I have been a Canon camera/lens user for over 20 years and I have always been pleased with any Canon purchases I have made. I am not boasting that Canon is the best as Nikon and Sony etc all produce quality kit and I do not get into the game of who is the best manufacturer as in my view they are all equal. I own two of Canon's quality lenses which is their best lenses they produce. However you pay a premium price for these lenses and they are very heavy to carry around. Hence I was looking for a more lighter lens that I could carry around with me all day for every day shooting. I was deciding on either the 24-105 mm RF IS STM lens or the 24-240 mm IS RF lens. Having read a number of reviews from the 'experts' I decided on the 24-105 mm lens on the basis of cost and that I already own a lens that covers 100-400 mm. I am a enthusiastic photographer and snap a picture of whatever takes my fancy but usually landscapes and wildlife. I am very pleased with the 24-105 mm lens even though it is restricted on its aperture i.e. it lets in less light. It is very light to carry around and I recently used it extensively on a cruise in Norway and it caused me no problems at all. The restricted aperture did not deter me while out shooting on dull days and I am happy to increase the ISO to get the right shutter speed as cameras these days have great control over noise if it occurs and software can also help. My current camera is a Canon R7 that has an APSC sensor so this does impact on the focal length increasing it by 1.6x. The lens with this camera has caused me no problems and you do get great stability with the lens and the IBIS in the camera. I am pleased with the photos this combination took and the photos have been vibrant with good colour, clarity and sharpness. Obviously it is not as good as a Canon 24-105 mm quality lens but then you are paying a quarter of the cost and my photos are for my personal enjoyment and not looking to exhibit or enter competitions. Overall, a very good lens, well worth the purchase and very pleased.

Ausgezeichnetes Objektiv! Es ist sogar in allen Bereichen schärfer als mein bisheriges 24-105-mm-EF-L-f/4-Objektiv. Zudem ist es leichter und schneller beim Scharfstellen. Obwohl ich das vermeintlich höherwertige EF-Objektiv mit einem Adapter gut verwenden konnte, war der Austausch aus drei Gründen sinnvoll: 1. Der Erlös aus dem Verkauf des gebrauchten Objektivs war höher als der Neukauf des RF-24-105-mm-Objektivs. 2. Es ist leichter und somit ein echtes „Immer-drauf-Objektiv“. Das andere hat mich stets an einen Hydranten erinnert. 3. Die Abbildungsschärfe ist erkennbar besser. Der kleine Nachteil, dass die Lichtstärke dieses Objektivs im äußeren Zoombereich auf Blende 7,1 absinkt, ist für mich kein Hindernis – die dadurch entstehende größere Tiefenschärfe stellt sogar einen Vorteil dar. Und falls ich in lichtschwachen Situationen mehr Licht benötige, gleiche ich das einfach durch einen höheren ISO-Wert der Kamera aus. Das dadurch entstehende Rauschen lässt sich problemlos nachträglich entfernen. Zusammenfassend bin ich wirklich total begeistert!
