Acrylic Designer Gouache - Set of 18, 12 ml Tubes

Amazing paints, so vibrant! I've tried Arteza acrylic gouache before and was so disappointed with the quality (chalky and hard get it stay or blend on paper). Holbein acrylic gouache is more expensive than Arteza but you definitely get what you pay for. It blends well, no streaks or disappointment. You won't regret buying them!

All I can say is the receiver enjoyed them for a gift. That's why 5 stars.

I tested a certain well-known budget brand before trying this stuff and I can say Holbein is worth paying the extra money for. The opacity, bright, pigmented colors, and smooth finish is superior and what I expect from an acrylic gouache. Not a big fan of the matte finish, but that's just my opinion (I normally use regular acrylics). Some of the paints came out of the tube very watery, but other than that they are good quality.

My granddaughter is an artist. She loves these.

I've recently taken a liking to Acryla-Gouache as my preferred medium. It functions similarly to traditional gouache but has the advantage of drying permanently, which I really appreciate. The colors are not only unique but also highly controllable, making it easier to achieve the effects I'm aiming for. One minor drawback I've noticed is that the plastic and cardboard case could be sturdier, which sometimes makes storage a bit tricky. To enhance my use of these paints, I've found that Sta-Wet palettes can really elevate my artwork. To get the best out of the paint’s quality, I’d recommend investing in good brushes, sturdy watercolor paper, and perhaps some artist’s tape. I also appreciate that the level of transparency can be adjusted, allowing me to create thick, impasto textures, especially when using watercolor ground for added support. Overall, I feel this has been a worthwhile investment, and I'm excited to keep working with it!

This assortment is a good mix of colours. For my class I needed the CYMK colours though so this wasn’t exactly what I was looking for unfortunately.
