2 Hounds Freedom Multipurpose 1 Inch Euro Pet Leash 4 to 8 Foot or Double Dogs with Detachable Handle Brown

I ordered this leash with the matching Freedom No Pull harness for my 60 pound, 9 month old golden retriever. I absolutely LOVE this leash on its own but especially paired with the harness. I feel like I am prepared for anything because it is so versatile. It has two spring hook fasteners at either end of the leash along with a very strong extra fixed ring near one end (use to shorten leash) and a floating ring which you can use to tie off the leash to a fixed object or make it a hands free or two dog split leash. The handle is separate and has its own spring hook fastener. Different options: • 4-5 foot lead • 8-9 foot lead • hands free fasten around waist • hands free shoulder strap • fasten to a pole or other solid object • walk two dogs at once • use with freedom harness to fasten at front and back to gain more control of your dog You may not think you need all of these options, but I have used a LOT of them and love it. Sometimes when we go for our walk, our route will be more crowded or my dog is extra energetic and I want to keep her on a shorter lead. Conversely, if it isn't busy or she meets a friend and wants to play, with just a 2 second adjustment she can instantly have a fun, 9 foot lead. If I get a text that needs an immediate reply while walking, I can quickly clip the leash around my waist or shoulder to use both hands to text without my phone being flung from my hands while trying to hold the phone and leash together. Also, at the end of our walk in the park, I can fasten the leash (short or long) to a picnic table while she gets her drink of water and I can relax and get my drink also. I also use the tie off function when walking around the neighborhood by myself to practice her "Sit, stay" command. The leash is strong, and one inch wide. The extra hardware makes it slightly heavier than a normal leash but is not a problem at all with a medium to large dog. In fact, I appreciate the extra strength and durability for my strong dog. If you have a very small dog, this particular leash may be too heavy for you. Finally, I ordered the raspberry color and it is beautiful! UPDATE: This leash also works great with the Gentle Leader head harness as you can clip one clip to the Gentle Leader and the other clip to your regular collar for added control if your dog somehow escapes or breaks the Gentle Leader. I am still really loving the versatility of this awesome leash.

This is what I've been looking for, for a year! I love this leash! I have been trying in vain to find a leash that has two connectors, one for the head collar and one for the harness, where the leash actually moves with your and your dog's movement. For instance, since I use a head collar I don't want the leash to pull me forward every time my dog leans down for a sniff of the ground. This leash, with its free-moving O-ring that the handle attaches to, allows for the constant difference of distance between the handle and the head collar AND the handle and the harness. I hope I'm making sense. Most people will probably use this leash in one of two ways: 1) attach leash to collar and harness or 2) attach leash to front and back D-rings/O-rings on a training or control harness. One of our dogs was abused and consequently has issues with his collar. Therefore, I do not use his collar for anything other than to hold his tags and to look cute. Our other dog has bloodhound in her and will drag you suddenly when she catches a great smell. No amount of training will rid her of that. That's why I use the head collars. I also love that the handle can be detached. I bought a 2 foot leash to attach to these leashes because they are a bit too short for us. You can also use this detachable handle as a traffic/city leash to keep your dog right by your side with much greater control. You can use this leash in several ways and I think that's fantastic! Another D-ring attached somewhere between the one that is close to a connector and the middle of the leash length would add more options for the uses of this leash. BUT, if I could improve this leash just for my preferences, I would make it 2-4 feet longer. When using it the way I do, it's only a four foot leash. Our dogs are large (German Shepherd and Great Pyr/Bloodhound mix) and are generally allowed to walk in front of us. That doesn't leave us much room behind them. Our regular leashes are 6 feet long and are the perfect length with our current dogs. Regardless, this is a fantastic leash and I HIGHLY recommend them. We walk for an hour or more every day and I've used these for a week...there isn't any tearing or fraying. Shipping was fine and they arrived in great condition. Love, love, love these leashes! Make them in different lengths and more colors and patterns and I'll buy more!

I ended up ordering this after purchasing the no pull harness and seeing ads about how well these work together. I got the hot pink and it’s so bright! The length of the leash is great with both settings, and I really like that it can be used in different ways. The metal clips seem very high quality as does the nylon material of the leash. My girl has chewed on the leash a lot and it has some indents but no tears yet. Would highly recommend if you have a dog you need to train to not pull, or if you prefer to feel like you have a good “hold” on your dog when walking them. The double clip on the chest and back makes a huge difference with walking vs just clipping to the back of the harness! The leash is comfortable to hold and carry, although in the double clip mode it can tangle and get frustrating. Overall I feel like this was a great purchase and would recommend it!

We have a large (145 lbs) pup who struggles with anxiety and walks were becoming increasingly unpleasant for both of us (me: 5’4” f). We have tried several things but this leash, coupled with the harness and ‘flight-risk’’ collar are allowing us to enjoy walking again! It took a bit of time and practice, for both of us! However, I don’t fear him escaping or pulling me out of my shoes anymore which means he isn’t picking up on my anxiety and exponentially increasing his. Clearing this hurdle allows for him to continue making progress during walks, build a healthy routine and get the exercise he (…well, we) need.

The product was great, but the description was a little misleading. I selected this product based on the size chart. I bought this for a small dog and it was why to large.
