Great for Snow Covered Solar Panels!
Solar panels do NOT work when they have a layer of snow on them. I purchased this after we had a light snow of about 2 inches that made my panels useless until they thawed. I was ready for the next one when I got about 5 inches of snow.Enter this roof broom. The head is made of a very high density foam so the chances of scratching the panels are negligible if even possible. The density is such that it's very firm and has no flex at all when moving the snow. It's only limited to the amount it can move based on the snow depth and your angle which affects how quickly/deeply the cleaning head penetrates the snow. The extension poles quickly snapped into place and were light/strong so that was a major plus. I can tell you that each extension pole you add makes the cleaning head feel like you're adding 5 pounds to it since it's getting further away from your grip and the poles have some flex. By the time I had all extension poles in use, it was a chore to get the head moved around since the poles are aluminum and have a decent amount of flex. At this point, I had to work over my head to move the brush head with all extension poles in place and it was NOT fun.All in all, I got most of my solar panels cleaned off and producing power again. The ones I couldn't reach took 4 days of thaw to get back to production. If the power had been out, I would have had nothing for this time period. Thanks to the roof broom, I was able to clean about 75% of my panels and keep my powerwalls charged.Given the amount of work this requires, I would suggest waiting for the snow to completely cease falling prior to cleaning. I can't imagine doing this twice within a weeks time!!I am thrilled with this purchase. Money well spent.

Cleans fluffy snow great
Have used twice now heavy snow with ice crust unable to handle it two days later after warm weather and sun I was able to clean the panels. The snap button should be located to the side but a water noodle slid over the handle works to protect the panels

Perfect for clearing snow from my solar panels
I have a large solar array on a second story roof. The roof is low-angle, so snow doesn't slide off by itself. And it's too high and low angle to be reachable from the ground. But I have very easy roof access from a deck on top of the house. I don't mind getting on the roof to clear my panels when it's snowy but I like staying above the panels for safety. This allows me to clear a 24 panel array, only have to walk along the top of it. I haven't even had to use the final extension (max length). The RoofBrum works to pull snow or pull snow (just flip over the head). It's lightweight enough to be maneuverable with 3 extensions installed and still sturdy enough to push snow. I was concerned about this doing the job I needed. And it's worked great. Very happy with this purchase. One note: Be careful if you have critter guard (essentially chicken wire around the bottom of solar panels). This RoofBrum can catch on it and it will damage the foam.

Fine for light snow but...
Nice product but only seems to work with light fluffy snow. The foam on the shovel is not strong enough to move much more than that. Also it seems you need to get the snow off the roof immediately after it lays. Finally, would like to see a little more thought put into the product, for example the spring loaded buttons to assemble the pole point downward, which is problematic when you’re scraping over a gutter or the edge of the roof as it could push the button and accidentally released causing the pole to come apart. Same for the connection of the head to the last pole (threaded) makes it easy to assemble but also when you’re shoveling the roof makes it easy to come loose… Would rather see some other sort of attachment mechanism there.

Works as advertised
I've had the RoofBrum for several weeks now and am very happy with the way it performs. Our area in Colorado has had several 6-8 in snows and quite a few under that. The first time I used it we had just had a very wet 6 in snow and I used it to remove the wet snow from my roof mounted solar panels. It was actually a lot of work as I did all the removal while standing on a ladder, but the roofbrum did a great job and preformed as advertised. In the end I was using all but one extension but the roofbrum was light enough that I was still able to maneuver it without too much effort. (I'm 64 btw) I've also used it to remove snow from my hot tub cover and snow from the eaves of my roof in gutter areas. I was a little concerned when using it on my solar panels because I was afraid the bolt heads connecting the panels together might tear the foam head to pieces but so far it has held up nicely. (I still make an effort to avoid them when possible) As to the longevity of the product only time will tell, but so far I'm very pleased with it.

Needs a simple modification
Great for pulling snow down from my solar panels on my single story house, but there is a major design flaw. The push buttons that hold the pole together are on the bottom, so they bump on my gutter and the edges of my bottom panels when dragging snow down the panels. I was frustrated by this, but then it actually unhooked and now my snow removal head and half the pole got stuck on my roof! One of the buttons sheared off.I reached out to the company and they sent some replacement parts which was great. When re assembling I added a hole to the first angled pole so all the buttons are on the top now. This should have solve all my problems. We’ll see, it supposed to snow this afternoon.

Excellent Product
Works very well to remove the snow from my 20 450w solar panels. Works perfectly without two of the extensions and doable but a little difficult when using the last two extensions. I typically get the snow off the bottom and middle solar panels first and then use the last two extensions to get the snow off the top row which then can slide down. Easy to assemble.
