Can we discuss the irony of this product? We spend countless hours over the years washing our hair and trying to ensure it is clean and fresh smelling. Then, in an effort to look EVEN BETTER, we smear clay over our hair to ensure it is in position tighter than an big-haired 80s 'do held together with pins and hairspray! Having pointed that out, let's be clear- this stuff rocks. I have hair that is thinning and has been since birth, I believe. It is this thin, delicate stuff that can't stay in place because the lightest breeze will have it flying all over the place. Put some of this stuff in and it is as solid as a rock. As long as I don't touch my hair, no additional brushing needed through the day. It is set and forget - a man's favorite phrase outside of the bedroom! It holds like a rock! The only detraction is its smell. It is clay. It smells like clay. I guess you get what you get. Not sure that I want to smell like clay, but it does not linger and the wife does not complain about it. She complains about EVERYTHING ELSE, so either she's just burnt out (something she SWEARS will never happen - her job is NEVER done) or her sense of smell is impaired (also a no, she has the nose of a bloodhound), or the scent tends to diffuse over a short period of time. No stain is left on either clothing or bedding. Easy to put on - just dab a bit onto a couple of fingers, rub them into the palms of your hands, run them through your hair and soon, you too will have dried mud in your hair and BE HAPPY ABOUT IT!!! All joking aside, this is a product that I never run out of and am sure to have with me everywhere I go, as I use it daily. Great product at a fantastic price - salon looks at K-Mart prices!

I just bought 10 more of these in case the formula changes in the future. If any of the Forte workers are reading, PLEASE DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING WITH THE FORMULA!!! I will buy this for life and recommend to others if nothing changes! Great product- I was looking for something to replace Kevin Murphy Night Rider because Kevin Murphy had changed their product so that hold was lacking and it was no longer really matte. This product is great- holds all day, makes my fine hair look more full, truly matte finish. I am an east Asian guy so my hair is straight FYI. Yes it's a tiny bit stiff and difficult to remove from the container but I think it's just how things go if you want to have a product that really keeps your hair in place all day without falling. I'm buying the product for the hold and look, not for a very tiny inconvenience of pressing a little harder to get it out of the container. Doesn't really smell like anything to me. Hold is stronger than Hanz de Fuko Claymation, this is more matte, and it doesn't make your hair clump up as much. Doesn't really look like you have any product in your hair either, if you use the right amount. Claymation isn't bad but this is better. AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T CHANGE! Oh god I'm so sick of companies changing their hair products and then I need to search for new ones hahah.

The hold on this thing was insane but with a insane hold there is usually a draw back. This was drawback was it was hard to wash out. The best way to wash it out was with using shampoo wash time I used the clay. You could just use conditioner but I took more to cover your hair because the clay left your hair almost water resistant. I like the smell personally but many of my family members said it smelled like play-doh. And the smell was very faint. The hold was just amazing. It left my hair at a stand still while still looking normal. Like I didn’t just dump a pound of hair gel on my head. My hair was soft when I used it. Also, this stuff will last you forever. I have been using it for months each day. And I still haven’t even gone through a 3rd of it.

Great Styling Clay for Teens My teenage son loves this hair clay! It’s easy to apply and styles really well without leaving any film or making the hair clump. The hold is just right, and it smells really good too. Overall, a great product that he uses every day.

Hard as a rock to apply, impossible to wash it out. Leaves residue on hands even after vigorously washing your hand.

I’ve been using this product for over 2 months and before i was using pomade. I have insanely straight hair and have been desperate for that wavy messy look. I tried many methods and products but they either didn’t work or damaged my hair. Then i tried clay after seeing a bunch of videos on it and i could tell you it’s a great replacement for pomade if you have straight hair. Its only hard to use once you first use it but after a while its easy. It could honestly go for any look you’re going for, nice and neat or wavy and messy. It could also last the whole day without going flat at all. Mandatory for straight hair, best purchase I have made for my hair!

Hair clay is pretty thick and solid trying to scoop out product. Definitely feels like bees wax. Scent is waxy smelling. Hold is pretty good. Not sure how I feel about it. I'm leaning more towards the bad then the good at the moment. I find myself reaching to use other products than this.

I HAVE BEEN using this product for the last 3 months every time i use it gets better because u get to know how it works and i highly recommend this especially if u you have long hair. When u apply at first it gonna be stiff but after 30min to 2 hours it will be soft

Really does hold flyaways for at least an entire day. On the other hand it’s very hard to remove from your hands, it’s essentially pure wax. It’s also very costly for what it is.

Amazing hold hands down, the clay is really hard whitch it should not be that means that it has lost moisture. I wish I could get a hold of the seller to send a replacement one.

I got this for my boys and it’s hands down one of the best styling products we’ve used. The hold is strong enough to keep their thick hair in place all day, but it doesn’t look stiff or crunchy. The matte finish looks natural and clean — no greasy shine at all. It’s also really easy to work with. A small amount goes a long way, it spreads evenly, and it washes out without leaving residue. I also appreciate that it’s made with natural ingredients, so I feel good about them using it regularly. If you’re looking for a product that adds volume, texture, and definition while still looking effortless, this is it. Definitely worth the price for the quality

Hate leaving 1 star on brands I like, but this product is genuinely horrible. I didn’t read the reviews on this one - but it is genuinely rock solid, it’s not usable. It’s like frozen super glue. If you knock it, it sounds like a solid block. If you manage to scrape it out, it’s SO sticky it’ll rip out any hair it touches. It doesn’t even slide through the hair, it is like a wax strip. I lost about 20-30 hairs just trying to apply this product. I attempted to wash it out right away, took 4 washes to fully remove it. Will be attempting to return/refund.
