This pool extension pole has worked really well so far. We haven't used it much though because we didn't open the pool this year.

Overall seemed sturdy, one section would not tighten totally but got the job done

I'm a "buy-once, cry once" type of buyer (tired of buying cheap crap from China that breaks quickly and/or easily), but that's much more difficult in this economy. I purchased this pole based on the good price and good reviews, but I wish I had the foresight to see the problems with a 3-section pole. My old 2-section pole felt a lot sturdier and barely flexed, but the plastic locking collar eventually failed (seized and wouldn't lock pole at length). This 3-section pole "works" and it fit inside my budget, but it has a *lot* of flex near/at full extension (around 12-15 feet), which creates a few problems: 1) leads to lost energy/work (less efficient) every time it bends, 2) it makes it more difficult to determine the threshold for breaking (how much torque will break it), and 3) when using it at/near full-extension, a man (with medium to large hands) has less grip area due to the reduced circumference on the 3rd pole section. Also, moving your hands along the pole is uncomfortable due to the sharp edges on the plastic locking collars. My old 2-section pole lasted probably 15 years or more. I have the experience to know this pole won't last nearly as long. But even if it lasts 5 years, that will be 5 years that I'll have hated using it.

Delivered when promised, the quality was great. the price was better than other adds for the same product. Very happy with the purchase.

I bought the 15 foot thinking the extra length would make a better reach. I was a bit surprised when it came in 2 pieces. The 3 foot extension at first seemed awkward. Having used it, I am very happy. I have a deck around my above ground pool and like sweeping from there. The extension adds enough extra length that I can reach about 3/4 of the pool from there. Once on the ground, I can reduce it to about 8 feet without removing the extension. Watch out if you use it at ground level as when you tip it back, the water gushes out a hole at the end of the handle. But from above, this helps equalize the water in the handle. The metal is solid and I expect it to last a while.
