all 4 of my dogs, from the big one to the tiny one, love these things - they love all "yak" stuff. i don't usually buy from this particular manufacturer - seems their "yakkies" are probably the same as the one i usually buy from - which is the one with the yellow dog on the label, and the only real reason i started buying from them was because they were on "Shark Tank", and i just happened to see that episode. at any rate - yak chews are some of my dogs' favorite things, and they come in various types. i like the hardest ones because they last longest, and none of those things are ever wasted. when my dogs "whittle" them down, i soak the small pieces in water for a couple minutes - pop em in the microwave for a matter of seconds, and they 'grow' into totally safe treats. (instructions are on the labels) they really are a great alternative to other 'treats' which may be unhealthy.

I know these were for small dogs but, sheesh, even for a small dog these are SMALL!! barely 2.5 inches long and only 3 in a package for this amount of money is too high. Photo makes it look like these are the length of the bag...they are not. My dog is a husky/shepherd mix, on the petite side and is not a big chewer and these did last her a long time. She actually got tired of chewing for a minute and had to take a break. If you have a power chewer, this might not last very long, even if you buy the larger size (and do make sure you know what you are getting size wise for these as they are small and so few in a package). It was my fault for not looking more closely and making sure that these were fuller in size. I hate knocking off stars for that because it doesn't reflect on the actual product itself. I do think it's important to note though because the photo makes it look like they would be the length of the package and they are not even close! Not by a long shot! I won't buy them again as I think they are just too expensive for what you get but I will say, if you are happy with the price and with the tiny amount in the package, these do seem well made and my dog really did like them.

My dog loves these types of treats. However, I did find this brand on the smaller side.

I love the natural nature of these sticks. When I cook them, they smell SO good. My dogs absolutely LOVE these. However, the only issue I have is that I don't give the dogs the whole thing, so I like to have each stick in multiple pieces. Since I'm not great with a chainsaw, I have resorted to trying multiple ways to cut these up. I've tried a tenderizer mallet and beat on a knife that I didn't care about, but that made a mess. Really, the only way to cut these is with something that has a serrated edge. BUT these are still wonderful treats and bonus! You get to see them transform into puffy little snacks. I believe there is a smaller version, but those may be a little bit too small for 50+ pound dogs! So I'll just press on with my serrated edge method since my dogs love these and they run the house - ha!

I have a 7 month old puppy and the hope is we'll be out of the chewing on everything phase soon, but for now distractions are welcome and she's absolutely obsessed with these chews. She wants to take it with her on walks, will be excited to see people and then run back to this chew right away instead of wanting to play with them, it's amazing. First one lasted 3 days, second one 1 day, and I'm not sure why the difference. Maybe they were different sizes to begin with or maybe she just chewed harder on it once she got used to it. They don't leave a strong scent, but they do kinda leave crumbs where they're chewed on so be ready to vacuum or wipe up with a wet wipe.
