Q: Are these treats hard or soft?

To me (and my cat), they seem hard. They are like dried-up meat hard. We have a different brand of this and it is light and airy like freeze dried astronaut ice cream. I was hoping for that. Cat did not like this crunchy version.

Q: Review says they need to be refidgerated. WHY do they if they are freeze dried and are they processed in China?

Good question. I think perhaps because Salmon has an oil on it naturally. It is a dried product. I kept ours in the fridge since I knew it would take awhile to finish the container and I wanted to keep them dry and cool. I have no idea about the China thing. I do read labels and will avoid products from China. I have seen them in stores so I will have to study the package.

I've only ordered as a single item. Our GSD loves them! The really smell of fish, we put some on her food when she gets finicky. If you're looking at 12 containers for $17.41 that's a great price.

It does not require refrigeration. The chicken pieces are freeze-dried.
