One of the Best Wii Titles!
Summary:Parent? Child between 5-10?BUY IT!I wish I had more time to write all the awesome aspects of this game. However, if you want a more detailed review of this purchase as It was a gift for a friend, he reviewed this exact purchase here:[...]In short, this is the longest played, most enjoyable, most "go back and play" game me and my two sons, Seven and Five, have on the Wii. The older and I enjoyed and continue to enjoy this game as much as Lego Star Wars on the Wii. Whether I'm watching him play, helping "carve out" the Spectrobes, or playing as the Spectrobes itself, it is the best rainy-day/winter time (along with Lego Star Wars) we have on the Wii.

Not for me.
I saw this game and thought it reminded me of Pokemon and Digimon but was really disappointed when I started to play the game. It wasn't my style and completely was the opposite of what I had witnessed from online videos. It just wasn't for me and not something I should have purchased.

A hidden gem. How this impulse buy surprised me.
I admit I only bought this game because I was trying to qualify for the free shipping on another purchase and I wanted a Wii game with an RPG element in my collection. The game started off a bit modestly and began to pick up. The emphasis is much more on the action than the RPG, but I'm really glad I bought this game. I'm sure plenty of people have already raved about the scenery, and if you watch any English-dubbed anime you're bound to recognize at least one of the many character voices as they lend their talents. As far as gameplay goes you'll find yourself in plenty of melees, and this is one of those games where the more willing you are to concentrate and be mindful of your enemies and surroundings, the more effectively you'll fight. Enemies vary in size, speed, and types as do your Spectrobe companions which makes the weapon you choose and the Spectrobe you currently have out important to the flow of a melee. The controls for controlling both yourself and your Spectrobes during a battle are seamlessly intuitive. Experiment with the lock-on controls to get different kinds of attacks; some of your Spectrobes may have a ranged attack. If you're worried about a lack of challenge when you find yourself unrelentingly beating back enemies and retreating from their attacks don't worry, mistakes like getting cornered can be very costly and you'll face enemies where such a scenario is almost a non-option; the game rewards a no-mercy attitude and demands playing dirty during the tough boss battles. This is fun.

Not what I expected
I bought this game thinking it was a full coop game, so my sweet kiddo and I could interact together. It is coop, but not full time coop. The only time I get to help her is in fighting. The "spectrobe" is the animal that helps the person defeat bad guys, and then you are removed from the game. So it really should be labeled part-time coop. She enjoys the game and that is the most important thing, but I just appreciate getting to interact with her more. Also, my little one wants to play as the girl instead of having to be the guy. It's all about my kiddo, and the fun that she has so it is a cool game. The nerds that made the game just lacked the proper perspective of a girl wanting to play as a girl, and family wanting to play as a team.

Another bad Wii game...
Not much to write about this game, so I'll pro-con it.Pros-Exploring is fun.Good control.I loved excavating fossils.Cons.Bad voice acting.Bad graphics.Boring.This is an obscure third party title that is a hack and slash, but a boring hack and slash at that. I was really disappointed with this and gave it 2 hours play at best. It's really boring.

Childhood Nostalgia
It was a total surprise that it came brand new. My boyfriend and I have been having an absolute blast. Thank you so much for delivering us our childhood again.
