Can this be used on a glass top stove?

I’m just here looking at reviews because I’m in the market for a press. But to answer another person’s question in the answers… eh hem, Mr. Fake Geddy…. You may not be familiar with the idea of par cooking your tortillas as you press. You know, so they don’t shrink back up and you can get a larger, thinner flour tortilla without needing parchment paper. So maybe using a cast iron press on a stove would be more economical than buying a more expensive electric version that has imported parts designed to wear out and be useless over time. So thanks to everyone else that had a more useful answer, that this can go on the stove. Why else buy cast iron?😂😉

Can you adjust the thickness of the tortilla? I want to try to make masa boats, huaraches and maybe even papusa which are thick masa.

I have a different tortilla press but it’s also cast iron- they’re basically all the same. Thicker tortillas- just add more masa and a bit less force. Thinner- you just gotta put some elbow grease into it and maybe move the tortilla a couple times for more even pressing

I saw in a review for the Victoria IMUSA that the handle was not cast iron and snapped in half. Is this handle cast iron?

My handle was cast iron, and it snapped right at the contact point between the handle and the plate. I was adding a lot of pressure to the handle because I wanted to make the tortilla thinner. Now I know to only use the press to get the basic shape, then use a rolling pin to thin it out further. Lesson learned.

I can't figure out the difference between this and the Victoria IMUSA

Imusa is aluminum. Victoria is cast iron.

Excellent

Perhaps not the cheapest tortilla press available but the best made. ( I have had three! ) Excellent quality even if the hinges are a basic pin and split pin, at least that works. Heavy and durable, the weight actually makes it easier to use. Worth the extra cost.

Wrecked package

Terribly disappointed at the state of the package when it was delivered. This was meant to be gifted to someone. I would have expected more care to be put into packing and protecting an item as expensive and heavy as this before sending it overseas.

I love this tortilla press! I have used it to press the corn tortillas and they came out beautifully. The weight is good when you press down and it is very easy to maintain. I highly recommend.
