Very nice quality and works well
When my 15 year old Miele upright gave up the ghost and I found Miele no longer made uprights I was devastated. The Simplicity upright has many of the same features as the Miele so I ordered. The pros- great suction that revived the nap on carpeting. Adjustable cleaning wand and 2 on board tools. Adjustable height or auto adjustment. Light weight (15lbs I believe). Small foot print for easy use in tight spaces and between chair legs. Nice edge system to get close to walls/baseboards. Hepa filters. Cleans well. Cons- loud! If you have hardwood/tile floors, curtains or use for dusting you need to purchase a separate 1 1/4 brushes (universal attachment kits are great). The carpet rotator brush does not stop when you use the cleaning wand. So be aware of cord and toe location. The cord is a bit short for larger homes, much plugging and unplugging. No suction selection. So same suction whether vacuuming carpet or drapes. So far not an issue. Overall I’d give the vacuum 4.5 stars but rounding up to 5 as it is worth the money and does a nice job.

Just because it’s made in china doesn’t mean it’s no good
Pretty decent vacuum , I have had it over 3 years still works great, no problems, it replaced the American made simplicity that burned up that cost a lot more ,would buy another one

I tested this against my rainbow vacuum so you don't have to
I read somewhere you should vacuum one day for each person/pet that lives in the home. Well, I've got six kids, 5 of them boys, two dogs and two cats. The kids are older and the dogs are all well house trained but one sheds a LOT. We decided to replace the carpet and I needed a vacuum that works well. We've had a Rainbow vacuum for a few years now and I wanted a second vacuum with a bit more convenience of use. Here's how they stack up: I vacuumed our front room, where we spend the most time and so does our shedding dog. I used the simplicity vacuum going over the carpet in all four directions. As far as I could tell, it maintained suction without any loss. As an upright, it lost out on a lot of the maneuverability compared to the Rainbow, and the cord was shorter so I had to stop a few times to free it from around furniture and move outlets. It was heavier and more of a struggle to push around when I was being that thorough. As an enjoyable experience, 3/10. Then I went over it again in all four directions with the Rainbow. Instantly it was a lot easier to push the vacuum but you have to hold down the trigger for suction and after a while my wrist was aching. In the day to day, this is not likely to be a problem but I was trying to vacuum as best I could so I could compare the two. When I was finished, the water was dark brown, indicating the Simplicity had missed some dirt. It was hard to gauge exactly how much because it was in the water, but I would say there was a significant enough amount of dirt missed. There was not a lot of dog hair floating around, so the Simplicity apparently got most of that no problem. As a vacuuming experience, I give it a 8/10. After the carpet comparison, it was very easy to use the Rainbow to dust and do the baseboards, edges, and blinds. The Simplicity vacuum has parts that might do that too but the recoil on the tube makes that a huge headache and is far more work that way. Overall with just vacuuming, the Rainbow was a better experience, with the added bonus of "cleaning" the air as well so I think it gets some of the dust and hair in the air that would normally settle after a while if using Simplicity. But after vacuuming with the rainbow, I then had to clean it. You have to dump the water somewhere; we empty it into a bucket with holes in the bottom so the water goes out but the debris stay in, throw away the debris and dump the water outside on the lawn or gutter. Then you have to clean the bin. I think it's so so gross!! I clean the bin with vinegar, hot water, and a little bit of dawn dish soap to make it sanitary and avoid smells. Obviously with the bag vacuum there's none of that. When the bag is full I just replace it with an empty one and the cleaning is limited to using a cleaning wipe to wipe it down once in a while. Over all, I think I'll use the Simplicity for day to day and the Rainbow, with it's much better abilities and more versatile attachments, for deep cleaning or when I have time to clean it after. We do use the carpet shampooer function and use it as an air filter with regularity and it does seem like it makes a difference with allergies in the house. The rainbow cost a butt load more, I'll tell you that, so it should be good for something. If you don't want to shell out that kind of money, the Simplicity does a fine job but it's more demanding physically.

Worth the money
I am loyal to this brand of vacuum. This is my 3rd one in 25 years so the first 2 lasted about 12 years each. The power is fantastic! These are especially good for people with allergies, the bags and filters keep the dirt where it belongs , in the bag! Sure, it costs more but it is well worth it, you do get what you pay for and the brands at box stores are just cheap.

Cheaply made motor failed and not covered by warantee
Don't buy this vacuum. My motor went out after only 24-months. I only have a few area rugs that I vacuum, so it is insane that it broke already. Repair shop told me this is a cheap Chinese made vac and he has seen a lot of issues with it. Choose something else if you are wise.

The Simplicity Vacuum Really Sucks!
I purchased this vacuum as a father's day gift for my husband. He loves it! I replaced our old Panasonic which I also loved but had seen better days and was beginning to fail. There are several things I like about this vacuum. 1. Easy to put together. 2. Great Suction 3. On board attachments 4. There are 3 different filters 5. Bags are easily disposed of 6. Cord length is fine. Now for the not so greats. 1. I wish the cord was retractable, I really, really miss that feature, the Panasonic had that and it prevents you from running over the cord or having it get in your way. 2. It is clogging rather easily and I have to take the thing apart to get to the clog. It's a pain. 3. Wish it was self propelled. That was such great feature and now you can't find that feature on any vacuum. The first one I had was a Hoover and that was self propelled. The Panasonic was also self propelled. Now I'm a lot older and I really need that feature or vacuuming is pure drudgery. It's getting very hard to push the thing. 4. I wish it had that little light that tells you the bag is getting full. Not really necessary but a great convenience, not having to pull the cover off the vacuum and check manually. The Simplicity does it's job but it could stand improvements and added features that I can't seem to find in any vacuum. It's making me kind of wish Panasonic still made vacuum cleaners with all those much appreciated little conveniences that no one thinks about until, well, they aren't available. Maddening really because none of the products I've looked at have any of those things I've mentioned. Won't someone please pick up the mantel? You'd make a fortune.

Had for over a year, it's been great! Lots of power, and made in the USA. Well made.
