Lonely Planet Europe: Detailed Itineraries | Travel Like a Local | Insider Tips (Travel Guide) Review: A travel must! - My husband and I have been planning our own international trips for awhile and we ALWAYS buy a loney planet book to help us out. So much great information for all different types of travel. Love the recommendations, the maps they include. Review: It's like an encyclopedia! - This is as thick as a Bible. Thumbing through quickly (like under 2min), I have already found info on festivals, high/low season tips, average weather per location and more. Exactly what I was looking for to help us decide where our next trip should be. Best part? Lonely Planet has a dedicated guide for many of the locations contained in this book for even more specifics once you choose your your destination.

Kind of disappointing
I'm an old time Lonely Planet reader, but sadly, times have changed and their guides are no longer nearly as useful as they used to be. I know, I know, everything in the world is online at your fingertips, but I plan better using a combination of internet and old-fashioned paper books. It's so much easier to have everything presented in one place, then you can pick and choose which lodgings/attractions/etc you are most interested in -- then look those up online. This is an overview of all European countries, but there is such a limited amount of info for each country that it's really not worth buying. I'm afraid the day and age of useful guidebooks is coming to an end...

disappointubg
It is not up to the quality of other Lonely Planet Guides I have used. The print is tiny. The information is sparse. I traveled Africa with the Lonely Planet Guide years ago. I spent two years and it was a bible. I cannot say the same for this edition. So Sorry.

Not good if your are looking for pictures of the recommended places. Hard to decided if you want to go to an attraction without a picture
