Elkton Outdoors Hard 4 Gun Case, Fully Customizable Hand-Gun Pistol Case, Holds 4 Handguns and 8 Magazines, Crush Resistant and Waterproof

Extremely sturdy case. It has pluck-able foam but I have a couple of valuable 1911 style pistols that lay nice between the bottom and top foams, so I didn't have to pluck and fit anything. I just laid it on the bottom foam and put the top foam over it. On the top layer, still room for another two 1911 style held in place by the egg crate foam on the lid. Snug, but not too tight even without plucking. Foam compressed easily to close and lock the top. If you have spare mags you can still cut on fit them.I suppose if you have some girthy guns, like 44 mag revolvers, plucking and fitting would be a necessity. But even a S&W 38 special sized or smaller I doubt you would have to.

It's a very sturdy case, but the foam leaves much to be desired. I don't know how to fit 4 full size pistols and 8 magazines into the foam cutouts. There's only 3 layers of foam, they're quite thick and should hold up well but I'm only able to fit 3 pistols (2 full size & 1 compact) and 7 magazines without them touching each other. The pressure regulator is merely a screw, so if you leave it open in flight you'll most likely lose it. Overall the quality is good but don't count on fitting 4 full size tactical pistols in it as advertised.I would have been ok with it had they just said it was a 2 pistol case, but it's a little misleading. By the way I've flown internationally on numerous occasions for years with various firearms however for this trip it's only pistols going along.On the plus side it's much cheaper than a pelican or other brand.I'm going to have to buy a larger case for this project though. I would have given it 4 stars but I feel the description is misleading.

Product is well made and has met all of my requirements. My only complaint is that there is not a thin layer of foam that lines the bottom of the case. Since the pick and pluck foam pieces are the entire height of the individual foam layer, once it is removed, you have to rest your item(s) on the top of the second layer of foam. If you need both layers removed to fit an item like I did, then you are left with no barrier between the case and the contents. For small sections this is remedied by taking removed foam and placing it as a faux bottom layer. For larger removed sections though, this becomes impractical.Overall however, I am happy with this case, and would indeed recommend it to others.One thing to watch out for is the pressure relief screw. In my case, the screw was tightened all the way in, and maybe over tightened, as it had gouged the foam layers. Not a big problem though, as customer service was responsive and quick to resolve my concern; sending me 2 new foam layers, very quickly.

Commuting to another state for work, so could not buy a hand gun there, unless I wanted to surrender my DL from where I live. So, transported some hand guns via Airlines and TSA. What a breeze! This case is awesome. Strong, able to fit 4 guns and mags with no problem at all. I read the other reviews and was careful to keep the lower level of foam in place and just removed the upper sections to fit the guns. I just laid the mags on top of the foam and they did not move at all.

I found this case to be of high quality and serves very well as a carry/stage case. It locks securely (with your own lock, does not come with one). One of the eye guards on the lock inserts came off, but I simply reset it and crimped it with a channel lock and it's fine.

Great solid case. Love how the foam can be removed to fit a gun. Only regret is that first foam layer is too deep, so I ended up laying some of the removed foam sideways to take up the slack. For a small, thinnner gun (like the S&W M&P Shield), I recommend leaving the foam as is.

This is really an outstanding case for the money, easily customizable. Have 4 guns in it and plenty of room for extra cartridges. The grommets for locking are strong but, I am only locking for travel so I don't have to use the cable locks. Well made.

I did like the hard case but to customize the foam is like putting puzzles together which I spent hour plucking. I just ordered one from case club that is pre customize.
