Recent Kibble size change, very very small now.
In general, I love this cat food. It’s great for my cat’s needs and is truly quality cat food. When I adopted him, he was very overweight so we started with the weight control option from this brand and then got him switched to the hairball and urinary tract one once he got to a healthy weight. Before I got him on this brand of food, his coat was very dull and rough and not very full. But after about a month, it became super shiny, soft, and healthy. He has a sensitive stomach but this formula is gentle enough that he doesn’t get sick. The only thing I don’t like is that the last two bags I got now have kibbles that are 1/3 the size. So he doesn’t have to chew them as much which causes him to eat too fast and throw up. I don’t understand why they changed the kibble size but I’m pretty upset about it. In general, though, the formula is fantastic for maintaining your cat’s nutrition without them getting any fillers that can cause weight gain. And it doesn’t have two pungent of a smell so if you’re sensitive to the smell of cat food, this one is a lot less fragrant.

Like the smaller kibble size of the new formula
Reading the reviews, it feels like I'm the only one who likes the new formula. However, I have very specific circumstances. Cats are sensitive to quick changes in food, so without notice, having a change will cause them to vomit. It doesn't necessarily mean the food is bad. They just don't like to change diets so quickly. We're feeding outdoor community cats, many of whom are boys, so we've gotten big bags of this for quite a while now. We've had our guys spayed and neutered, so they're mostly middle-aged, with a few older and a couple younger. The giant kibbles were a bit difficult for them to eat, so I was quite happy to see the kibble size changed. Our cats are vacuuming up the new formula. I still had big bags of the old formula, and was a little sad that I had to put them through that again. But I've finally finished going through the old formula, and had a chance to make a gradual shift to the new. We have about 20 cats or so eating the new formula, and they seem to prefer it quite a bit. Again, these are outdoor cats with more diverse diets than normal cats, so they took the shift better than a typical indoor cat probably would. If you have a chance, I absolutely recommend slowly shifting from the old formula to the new because a fast shift might make your cat vomit. I'm not sure if there are major changes quality-wise (I've saved an old bag so I can compare them whenever I have time), but our cats seem to love it. They've even seemed to lose some interest in their treats as the treats don't seem to attract them much more than this food does now. It turned out to be a welcome change for me as so many of our guys are older and having more mouth issues and such. The old kibbles were just too big.

Hill’s Science Diet Adult 1-6 Urinary Hairball
My cat is very picky about his dry food and I’ve tried switching but he goes back to this every time and it really does help control hair balls. We’ve had him for four years and he has had minimal minimal problems with them. Highly recommend.

As good as the Prescription version (perhaps)
I have two boy cats, one that has UTI and hairball issues. For the past 2-3 years they have enjoyed Hills Prescription Diet c/d (they share and per my vet, no issues/concerns with sharing this particular food). Anyway, as costs everywhere keep increasing, I found myself struggling to keep them on the Prescription food. Thankful for this version, as it read close to the Prescription Diet and is about 1/3rd less in cost. My only question to Hills is: what will they transition to when they are seniors? For now though, my fur-men and I are happy with this kibble option.

Great for my two Ragamuffin cats, worth having on Subscribe & Save
I have this Hill’s Science Diet Urinary Hairball Control on Subscribe & Save for my two Ragamuffin cats, and it’s been amazing for them. One of mine struggled with hairballs and the other had some urinary issues, and this food has helped both. Their coats look great, they’re not hacking up hairballs all over the place, and they’ve had zero urinary problems since switching. They both actually like the chicken recipe too, which is a win because they’re picky. The big bag lasts a good amount of time, and I love not having to think about reordering because it just shows up when we need it. If you have long-haired cats or ones prone to urinary issues, this food is 100 percent worth it. My two are thriving on it.

Before and after
What happened? The kibble used to have bigger sized kibble! Now it is a fraction of its size in kibble! I gave a three because the size has shrunk substantially,, although my cat is eating it like he hasn’t eaten in days. For that reason alone I upped my stars to 4 stars!

My Cat LOVES This Food and It Really Works!
I switched to Hill’s Science Diet Urinary Hairball Control for my cat a few months ago, and I’ve seen such a positive difference! First of all, she absolutely loves the taste—she runs to her bowl every time it dispenses, which hasn’t always been the case with other foods. I wanted something that would support her health while also helping with hairballs (she’s a long-haired kitty). Since starting this food, no more hairball surprises on the carpet, and her litter box habits have been totally normal and healthy. The kibble size is perfect, and the ingredients seem high quality. I also appreciate that it’s specifically formulated for adult cats 1–6 years old, so I know she’s getting the right nutrition for her age. If your cat has urinary concerns or struggles with hairballs—and is a bit picky like mine—this food is definitely worth trying. It’s made a big difference in her health and happiness!

Hill's Science Cat Food is a high quality meal my cat's deserve
my cats are getting old and very picky with the food they eat. An excellent food quality brand name that I know and trust for my fur babies. They have been able to maintain their weight on it because of the good nutrients in this product. Comes fresh and is a small, good size my cat's can chew very easily.

Dont believe the negative reviews saying it is not suitable for Indian cats. All my 11 Indian cats and the cats who come to my house are eating this and they absolutely love this as well. Some cats may hesitate at first but you gotta go slow with them by mixing it with their old food, bu they will surely love it once they get used to it. My cats have gained healthy weight and better coat and less fur fall after they start eating this. Definitely go for it.

Surpreende a todos que comprei. Muito bom. Infelizmente eu não posso, manter pelo valor. O presidente dos infelizes, tiram tudo de nós. Até o sono.
