Better than an expensive gaming chair
Excellent desk/gaming chair for the price. This chair was a perfect fit for me. I’m 5’10” 240lb and I have fallen asleep in this multiple times. I’ve used it on hard wood and carpet. After 4 years of consistent/heavy use, the armrests are starting to break down and the recliner is busted. But this chair lasted longer than my roommates $500+ gaming chair and was arguably just as comfortable to game in. This chair happened to fit my modest pc set up perfectly, I do not like big bulky chairs. I will be buying another one to replace the old one, and I will still be spending less than my roommate did. (For a taller person I would recommend removing the headrest)

Owned 2 versions of the Hyken and love them both
Huge fan of the staples hyken line. I spent 20 hours test riding chairs in stores and ended up with the full mesh one (held up for many many years, but the leg foam is starting to fall apart now). I liked that the full mesh one would help with butt sweat, but still felt comfortable enough for extreme gaming sessions lasting 24 hours or more. I still have the mesh one but I've gained weight over the years and the full mesh version is starting to feel a little narrow (I'm 6 feet tall, 225lbs btw). This time I bought the staples hyken XL and I love it too. Sitting down in this thing actually feels like taking a load off and is relaxing and super comfortable. I like that the XL has real springs like a mattress. I also like the mesh parts to help stay cool in the summer. The full mesh version is a fantastic value, but not suited for overweight people. The XL has room to breathe and has fantastic support. Highly recommend this product line.

Very Good Chair, but....
Bought this product a few days ago and now have had it for a few days now, so I can give a short review on it. So far its been a pretty good upgrade from my previous chair, and has been extremely comfortable to sit in, even after hours of use. The quality for the most part is very well done and the features on this chair are quite nice with the mesh padding and lumbar support, and I really enjoy being able to lean and tilt backwards when I want. Overall the sitting quality is a 5/5. As for what I somewhat disliked/am disappointed about with the chair, it would have to be build time and the headrest. Firstly, as a somewhat weaker person, as well as assembling it alone, it was a pain to put together. It took roughly 2 hours to finish the chair doing it alone, though that was mostly just putting the chair together. I would recommend getting someone else to help when it comes to building the chair as the positions can be quite awkward when twisting the screws into each part. As for the second part of what I was disappointed with, ultimately it was the headrest snapping off before a full day of use. Whether I twisted the screws on too tight or if it was not design for more than a pound or two of force, I'm not sure. Still it ended up snapping right off while testing the chair out on the first day, so be wary of that if you want to use it long term. Likely it was a combination of too much force and screwing it on way too tight, but it is not designed to take much force at all. Other than that, the instructions were practically perfect with the visual representations and everything else about the chair has been working in good order. It is quite compact too, so it can fit in smaller spaces which makes it a plus since I don't have a lot of space in my room. The extra features with tilt control, height adjustments, lumbar support, and the armrests are exactly as advertised, so no problems there either. Pretty good chair for the price tag, with only a couple of issues at best.

I like it. It's good enough for me.
I love it. I got the Hyken Pro version. I think it has great back and neck support. It's comfortable. It has good stability to handle a big guy of 250 pounds. IT was easy to assemble; I didn't break any sweat. Great upgrade for me.

For the price, packaging, easy of assembly an easy 5 stars.
As always, I rate with price in mind and considering that price. Is this as comfortable and well built as a Herman Miller Aeron? No. But it also doesn't cost 1200+ bucks. For like $1000 less, it's pretty good. I found it was kind of difficult to find a mesh back AND bottom chair that wasn't too crazily priced, so that's what brought me to this char. - One of the best, if not best, packaged assemble-yourself furniture items I've ever dealt with. All pieces were wrapped very well to prevent damage. Due to their smart choice in box size in relation to the disassembled chair pieces, everything fit nicely in the box, came out nicely, was completely undamaged, AND I didn't have like 2 trashbags full of styrofoam to toss like with most assembly required stuff. - Instructions were clear and correctly well written in English, without the usual sometimes laughable often times confusing instructions that usually seem to be translated by throwing darts at a board of random words you might find in a manual. -Nice touch was that each plastic pouch with the hardware had a card in it with the part ID and what instruction steps it's used for. So you might have 4 bolts, and the card would have 'A' Step 3. And in the instructions you'd find step 3 and see the bolts 'A' needed. Amazing to see a company actually put a bit of effort into their instructions/assembly stuff. Also the only tool needed for assembly was the included Allen wrench. - It's pretty comfortable for a just over 200 dollar chair. Armrests are adjustable up and down of course, and you do have some adjustment room width-wise by sliding them in and out before tightening the bolts underneath. It's not a huge amount of adjustment, you can maybe add another 2 inches of space total max, and obviously it's not a simple button/lever adjustment since you have to adjust the bolts. The same thing applies to the seat depth, the chair back can be assemble with a bit of room while tightening the bolts. Though you're probably only getting an inch or so there. The lumbar support piece also has a bit of adjustment as well. The headrest only has one bolt position, but it has some adjustability with the pivot mount it has. The usual other adjustments of course too that you'd expect from an office chair: height, lock back in place, let back lean. - Great value for the price point, especially since there aren't a whole lot of mesh back and bottom chairs out there down in this general price range.

Amazing budget option, cannot recommend enough after 2 and a half years of use.
I bought this to replace my old, el cheapo office chair that was falling apart and was causing me to slouch very badly. It was that type of office chair that was some cushion on top of plywood that you'd be feeling after 20 minutes. I was searching for a chair and at the time, needed something that was very affordable. I decided on this one because it was mesh and one of my friends with really bad back problems got it after doing lots of research, and he recommended it to me. When I got this chair in... oh my gosh.... you cannot possibly understand how life-changing it is to have a proper, solid office chair, especially if you're like me and spend hours each and every day at your desk, in your chair. I'm 5' 7" 120lbs, this chair supports me perfectly, headrest is at the perfect height. The mesh is great, very breathable and supportive. The modularity is great, you could strip the entire thing down to a stool if you so desired. I keep the arm rests off to make getting in and out of the chair easier, and sometimes I detach the headrest when playing VR while sitting. I understand they're forced to do this to fit the chair into a smaller box for cheaper shipping, but it's still appreciated. The build quality is... well, plastic, but pretty hard and solid plastic. The back shroud that covers the metal bracket that mounts the back rest to the seat is the weakest point and has cracked, but otherwise it's been great after 2 and a half years of continuous use. And let's be real, you can't complain about build quality at this price point. Overall, definitely get it if you can. Do not hold off on it and consider buying something else, yeah a new graphics card is cool and all but framerates don't matter if it hurts to sit in your chair. You'd think I'm joking, but my buddy I mentioned earlier messed up his back after years of construction work and a bad motorcycle accident. He has a triple screen 1440p 144hz setup with a 4090 but there's days where he wants to play and can't because of his back pains. So, seriously, do your research and consider ergonomics, and definitely consider this chair. Pic 1: Aug 2022 Pic 2: Oct 2023

Who is this chair made for?
TL;DR Unlike what the other reviews say, this chair is not made for petite people either because the seat doesn’t go low enough. Before ordering this chair I did a whole bunch of research. I found this highly recommended on a bunch of Reddit threads and read the reviews here which generally seemed to be positive. I saw that larger people (wide, tall, and both) had issues with it but since I was a 5’4” size 4-6 woman, I figured I was fine. I was wrong. The Seat: The main problem that made me sent this chair back was that the lowest setting on the chair didn’t allow me to set my heels on the ground if I’m barefoot. (Lowest it goes is 20 inches — see picture). Standard chair height is 16-21” so it’s stupid that it doesn’t go lower. If you make a chair for smaller people, you have to make sure the chair goes low enough. Having your feet flat on the ground is the most important part about good sitting posture. Also, I use a Mac at work with no extra screen (I love the Trackpad!) and the extra height had my neck aching after just one day of use. Also also, the seat is super shallow — which was definitely an irritation. The Headrest: The headrest didn’t exactly “hit my shoulders” but it was more of a neckrest. From the other reviews, I know the headrest is supposedly adjustable but there are a couple problems with that: (1) it is not adjustable in the way that it’s described in the manual, (2) they do not include any of the tools you need to do it as it requires a screwdriver and a different sized hex wrench, and most importantly, (3) it’s a pain in the butt to do. You have to take the whole dang headrest apart. The Lumbar Support: One thing that I haven’t seen in other reviews is that the lumbar adjustment is just sad. It’s only adjustable by about ONE INCH between it’s highest and lowest setting. See pictures. Honestly not sure why this chair was rated so highly. I’m going to return this chair and fix up my old one again. Hopefully it can hold out until chair prices get more reasonable and middling chairs like this stop costing a fortune.

Great Chair/ Great Value
Love the chair! For the price it can't be beat. Also, I went to Staples to sit in all of the options available before purchasing and this was hands down the most comfortable of all of them.
