Petunia Pickle Bottom Sashay Satchel Diaper Bag in Gardens of Gillingham

I came across this bag a few months ago as I was looking for a convertible bag I could bring along on a trip. Immediately drawn to the color/pattern, I didn't realize that this is a diaper bag until I read the description! I was a little thrown by the price ($165 for a diaper bag??), but decided to purchase anyway since Amazon was offering free returns on the particular style I liked (Breakfast in Berkshire) in case I didn't love it. After a couple months of hemming and hawing, I decided to keep it and brought it on its maiden voyage for my vacation.I'm glad I decided to keep it because it worked out very well for me. The size and multiple pockets throughout were great for stowing stuff during my travels...a light jacket and scarf fits into the main zipper compartment for plane rides, tablet and cell phone in the front snap compartment, and several little pockets for things like sunglasses, gum, keys, etc. A slim water bottle and thermos can just fit into the exterior bottle pockets, although this does render the two interior bottle pockets useless (although unnecessary for me anyway). The bag easily converts into a backpack for hands-free carrying and can be finagled into a crossbody configuration, if desired. I absolutely LOVE the Breakfast in Berkshire color/pattern...the grey and white is a lovely neutral, while the pattern still makes it visually interesting. The yellow lining is a nice pop of color that makes me smile each time I look in my bag, and also makes it easier to find things when you're digging around inside. I got quite a few compliments on it, too! Definitely an eye-catcher.I didn't mark this as a five-star *love it!* for two reasons:1) I still wish the price had been a little more affordable (if I hadn't needed it for a specific trip, I would've waited to see if it would go on sale)2) I noticed a couple marks on the bag after returning from my trip. There were a few dirt marks that wiped off with a bit of elbow grease, but also a few rub marks that wouldn't come out. I'm a little disappointed in that, since I'd specifically chosen the glazed fabric to avoid stains...I haven't tried cleaning it with anything other than a wet cloth, though, so maybe some sort of cleaning solution will work.I've been using this as my everyday work bag (a little too large/heavy for weekend runaround, though) since returning from my trip, so it's gradually justifying itself as the cost per use dwindles.

Absolutely beautiful. Looks like a purse and love be the back pack feature. However I felt like the material would wear out quickly and I want a bag that well last for years. Difficult to clean and packs vertically. Hard to fit bottle on the inside and outside bottle pockets are totally useless when you have a bottle on the inside. Looks alone are A+ functionality is more of a B or C depending how much you pack and what you use it for. Size wise compatible to skip hop duo bags. I wish it worked for me because it's really beautiful. Good customer service.

Hands down my favorite bag. I have this same bag with a different pattern on it and love it. It's handled a lot of milk, formula and juice being spilled and forgotten in it and being thrown in the washing machine countless times. I use it every single day. I used my last one for about 18 months and began praying something would happen to it to force me to have to buy a new one. The price is a little high so I kept telling myself I wouldn't buy a new one until I absolutely had to. To my surprise my surprise my husband bought this one for me for Christmas. I like this one a tiny bit more than my last one because the fabric has a plastic sort of coating to it so I bet it's gonna last even better and longer than my last one. The only thing I'm kind of bummed out is that outside side, bottle pockets one of them is like a stitch smaller than the other side making it's a super tight squeeze to put the bottles we use for one side. One side is perfect! We use the "munchkin" weighted straw silly cups so they're rather fat bottomed so I can't imagine many bottles running into this problem of not quiet fitting. And we don't often do much that makes me have to bring more than one bottle along with me. I only wear it as a backpack I feel naked without it. I get complements on it from everyone mom's, to men who don't realize it's also a diaper bag! It's going to be hard to ever transistion to anything other than this bag even when I don't need a big bag to carry my kids crap in. I'm planning to use it as my school backpack too. This is a bag that is worth the price because it does everything you need it to do and holds up really really well!

I usually don't write any reviews, but felt that I really needed to with this bag. I was super excited and really wanted to love this bag, BUT was really disappointed! I agree with previous reviews about poor quality. You can see white thread/material on the outside. The so called leather parts are just plastic and not even nice looking plastic material. The inside is all black and would make it really hard to see/ find anything. Also not enough pockets for organization. Will be returning this bag. Definitely not worth the price!

I LOVE this diaper bag! I can't stand those diaper bags that look cumbersome or have really busy print, so I was looking for something more sleek. This bag fit the bill perfectly! The outer fabric is slightly water resistant & it fits everything I need very well with room to spare; diapers, wipes for the case that comes with the bag (travel packs of wipes fit well without drying out), two changes of clothes, ointment, formula dispenser, 2 bottles in the interior bottle pockets so they stay upright, bibs, & there's even room for a small pouch of my essentials. The little key hook is perfect so I don't have to dig around for my keys & the backpack straps are ideal for when I have my hands full. That's what sold me on this bag, the convertible backpack straps. Now I have a choice in how I carry it. The changing pad that comes with this bag is very handy & I've made use of it on many occasions. I have nothing but great things to say about this bag. It was a bit of a splurge for me but it's been extremely handy so I'm very glad I went ahead & got it. If you're on the fence about this bag, I urge you to get it because it is extremely versatile, very handy with all its features, & looks like a trendy bag instead of some frumpy sack to lug stuff around in. I absolutely LOVE it!
