***** Placement & Speed Settings Large Camera Essentials *********
Use: Cannon XF405 (3lbs at least)Stable Platform permanent camera position.Love This MountPlacement:like others we had a little bit of an issue on the tilt function at first but when I readjusted of "where" the camera sits on the mount and brought the camera into more of a "neutral" place of balance from where it sits (not over the front to far of the mount, and not to far back in the mount) from front to back, the motor handle the Camera just fine when it came to vertical movement. Even more so when I figured out the speed settings impact the motor power for a heavier camera like the Cannon XF405Speed Settings & Vertical Tilt function:In messing with the settings I notice that speed played a factor in the ability to be able to tilt vertically successfully. The lower the speed for vertical tilt you will hit a thresh hold that the mount will not be able to pick the camera back up. However, if kept the speed above at higher than 3 or 4 for vertical tilt, the mount had not issue with movement.(Again, Large Camera only)Pan Horizontally:No issues at allDirect Power or Rechargeable:This camera, for our set up, is in difficult place to get to. It is on a high pole mount. I was concerned if it would work with having direct power the whole time. There were no Q&A on that so it was shot in the dark.you will be glad to know you can do direct power if you have difficult camera placements. The rechargeable idea of having a remote camera is a great idea, but when we place cameras in difficult places to reach the last thing I wanted to have to mess with is, "Did I go change the base this week?". Again, thankful it works with direct power from the charge cord they provide.Over all:Great product for the price. We have had ours for almost a yer now and no problems at all.. It takes some time to learn the controls so play with the controls come, learn the speed at which things adjust, and make sure you volunteers have time to play with it some so they know how the speed works, what the numbers are. The only reason I have a 4 star on sturdiness is because the mount does not work at slower speed on vertical up and down. if they could improve the motor to handle a larger camera at a slower speed would be great. Not a deal breaker matter of fact we order more for other cameras that how pleased we are with what it does for us. Very dependable.IF you are having trouble with VERTICAL TILT.*****check you speed setting on how fast it vertically tilts. That impacts the ability of it doing what you are asking it to do, the lower the tilt setting the more the mount will struggle or not be able to move the heavier cam. I would think of it more as of power setting to handle the weight you have put on it if you are using it on a larger camera like ours.*****Cell phone:If you are using this for a cell phone, I can not image you would have any issues no matter what speed setting you have it on. This mount should be a rock star for you if it dose this well with a Cannon XF405I hope that this helps a lot of you if you get this mount.

As advertised.
I really like this except one thing. Using a camera while panning, you get the motor noise from the unit. I have ordered a front/back external mic so hopefully I won't capture the noise any longer, will see. But the product itself is well made and operates as advertised. The remote operation, the up and down seems to be reversed though. What I would expect an up movement by the up arrow is actually down etc. I'll get used to that, but seems to be a design flaw. I do recommend this unit. I'd give this a full 5-stars if not for the motor noise.

Works great with Panasonic HC-X2000 camcorder
The reason I ordered this was for my Panasonic HC-X2000 (3.3lbs) camcorder a long with a Rode VicdeoMic Camera Mount Shotgun (0.84lbs). Which brings the weight a little over 4lbs. As the product description says max weight is only 2.2lbs. So I knew I was gambling as far as if it will even work.Well it works perfectly. I'm very happy it does. I know from the description it is meant for smartphones or a Nikon D7500. But I'm really happy this works with my camcorder. My only other option was a $265.00 option, which in my opinion is too much money for school events and parties at home. So I'm going to get another one of these ZTFON PANTILT for my Canon VIXIA HC G40 which is a bit smaller. So yeah. I really do recommend this product.

Works fine for light cameras, does not handle a heavy camera well.
This motorized pan/tilt head works well for light cameras and small lenses. However, for a full frame camera and a heavier(ish) lens, the tilt feature doesn't work.Currently, I'm using a full frame Sony A7iv, and a 90 mm lens. The head is able to pan, but the tilt motors can't handle the weight. (The total weight of camera plus lens is around 3.5 pounds). Lowering the camera angle works fine, but the motors can't raise the camera angles. If I remove the camera, the tilt motors work fine, so it's a weight issue, not a broken motor issue.Other areas for improvement: the power cannot be turned on and off with the remote. You must turn it on at the head itself. Not a big deal, but may affect your use case.I ended up switching to a bescor, which easily handles the weight and allows for more precise adjustments.

need more time to review but so far it works as advertised
Product is vell designed; a bit heavy and needs to be on a sturdy tripod.

Jerky panning and tilt would not work if speed setting was 1 or 2, with no camera mounted.
For the price it seemed just okay. Panning jerks at the start and then is smooth once it is moving. The tilt did not have that issue. To my surprise, when the tilt speed setting was changed to 1 or 2, from the default of 8, it would only move a little and then stop, while the motor continued to run. This was with no camera mounted on it. Either a very poor design or very poor manufacturing quality control. Many other reviews on Amazon and other well known online stores had the same issue. If you do order one, ensure the tilt works properly over its full range, at the speed setting of 1 (slowest tilt speed) first with no camera and then with a camera. Some found as long as the speed was 3 or greater there was no issue. I found the same thing. If tilt speed setting of 3 or greater is slow enough for you, then it may not matter. I was only putting Logitech webcam on it and a lightweight handycam. If you were putting on the DSLR or other heavier camera, then maybe even tilt speed setting 3 might not work over its full range.

Great for football film
This is a great machine for taking football film. I love that you can charge it and it doesn’t rely on batteries. The remote reacts quickly and efficiently. My previous panning machine would lag and missed big plays down the field and required heavy duty batteries to operate faster. Super happy with this purchase.
