Works great for Mercedes oil changes, just slow when pumping by hand
Picked this up specifically for doing oil changes on my Mercedes and it does exactly what I needed. Setup is simple and the suction power is solid once it gets going. Manually pumping works, but it’s slow. If you’re planning to use this without an air compressor, expect to spend a little extra time getting all the oil out. Bottom line: it's clean and makes oil changes way easier. Worth it if you want a no mess setup and don’t mind the slower/tiring manual pump when you’re not using air.

Spectacular oil evacuation pump!
I wish I would have bought this years ago! I changed the oil in my riding lawnmower, self propelled lawnmower, and snowblower all in 30 minutes. I used my compressor to use it for the first two and went to my shed to do the snowblower with the manual pump. Worked so well. Didn’t need to use the smaller suction tubes. The large one fit through all dipstick “holes”. Went to my daughter and son-in-law’s house and did their rider lawnmower and snowblower also. All the tubes are pretty stiff and that is needed to get to the bottom of the oil pans. I first did take a heat gun to warm up the tubes to straighten them from the box it was all shipped in. So happy with this purchase.

Fantastic value - should have bought this sooner.
THE absolute best tool deal on Amazon. Well made, works great and easy to use. Couple tips: 1. Use a heat gun or hair dryer to gently straighten the suction tube if you need to straighten it. 2. When you feel the suction tube hit the bottom of the oil pan or crankcase, pull it up about 1/4” so the tube opening is a little above the bottom - this ensures unimpeded flow. You can easily get the remaining little bit at the end by pushing it to the bottom while giving the handle a couple easy pumps when finishing up. 3. I didn’t need to use shop air, just took 5 or 6 gentle pumps to start the siphon and oil flowing into the collection tank.

Works great on gear oil
Used the 6.5L pneumatic/manual extractor to replace 75w-85w gear oil in differential. Initially I used in with the manual pump and worked great. After additional need to pump was a bother to get off the ground and pump again, as directing the tube numerous times to the bottom of the differential to extract all the oil. I then hooked up to my compressor and worked great, since I had to fish around looking for the pockets of oil at the bottom of the differential. I highly recommend the pneumatic option to avoid pumping. If you are doing topside extraction the additional pumping would not be a problem. The instructions are the weak part of the extractor. I emailed ewk customer service and they replied quickly re. cleaning instructions, replacement orings, maintenance etc...

Game changer for oil change
Works great on my Mercedes. No unbolting skid plates and crawling under the car. It did not work with a pancake compressor and I didn't feel like running a hose from my big compressor. I will next time. I pumped it by hand and only took about 8 mins. It held all 7.9 quarts. Took it to Autozone and it dumped with no spills. Packed it in the box until next use.

Bought it, used it, not a fan
Nothing about this was easy. This is my second attempt at an oil extractor for doing oil changes on my boat. I decided to replace the one I had (and no longer used) hoping the compressor attachment would make it relevant. It did not. It was worthless. Possibly it’s my own application but the directions and product description didn’t cover applicable restrictions. I also don’t just willy nilly things and made sure to watch lots of YouTube videos on how to use this pump before using it. And my application is straight forward. Securing the black plastic cap to the reservoir was my first challenge. It was so tight, I thought for a minute I had the wrong part. It required channel locks to get it on and twisted and then channel locks again to take it off. Getting down to the bottom of the oil pan was easy in my 5.7L merc. The smallest diameter tube was the one and it’s a hard stop as soon as you hit the bottom of the pan. Hooked up my 165 psi Dewalt pancake compressor, flipped the valve on and waited…nothing. Kept waiting…nothing. My DIY friend/mechanic was with me and expressed concern I was running the compressor so long it might cause the canister to suck in and implode on itself making a huge mess. I reminded him we had no oil yet so we let the compressor run and eventually the compressor ran out of pressure without drawing a single drop of oil. Read the directions which don’t have a lot of detail, but it’s also a simple operation that really only works one way. Confident we were doing it correctly, just like in all the videos I watched, we gave up on the compressor. Le sigh :-( New plan…the hand pump, same as the one I had hoped to “upgrade” from. After a 15 or so pumps we saw our first sign of oil coming up the tube. I was elated but also disappointed that we couldn’t get this far with the compressor attachment. My disappointment grew as I noticed the extreme slow rate of oil coming out of the motor. We pumped and we pumped and we pumped and after 45 mins decided we might or might not have got it all and went on to the filter. There really is no reliable way to know if the pump has finished the job. You can’t see in the canister and you can’t see to the bottom of the oil pan (obviously) The filter was in such a god-awful awkward place we were unable to get it with the wrenches we had so I ordered a different wrench from Amazon and put the project on hold for a couple days. Filter arrived two days later, but now it’s Tuesday, so i waited another couple days till the weekend. Being very concerned on our uncertainty if we had all the oil out, I decided to try the compressor again. Nope, no luck. So I went ahead and did the hand pump and pulled more oil out. Still not certain if I had all the oil, my concern succumbed to frustration and went ahead and Replaced the filter anyway. In total, I spent almost two hours waiting and wondering if I had all the oil out of the pan. The frustration with the non functional air compressor, and the black cap I have to use extreme force to get on and off, and the unbelievable amount of time spent waiting for the oil to come out, but no way to know if I got it all really soured my experience with this product and reminded me why I stopped using the previous one I had bought. I’ll continue to look for other solutions to do my own boat oil changes.

Awesome Tool! Almost Perfect!
I love my EWK Oil Extractor. Hooking it up to an Air Compressor that can do at least 80 PSI makes oil changes mess-free and done in about 10 minutes. The oil gets drained fast, especially when it is a little warm. The Unit is super easy to use, can hold well over 8L and makes doing oil changes on my 2012 BMW X5 a breeze. I never have to get under the car to do an oil change and can patiently drain all 8L of oil in about 5 minutes over the engine bay. The only advice or improvement I could make would be an easier and more comfortable method of draining. When it's full, it's heavy, and the pump handle makes it even more awkward to drain. I would like to see a faucet or drainage system that does not require lifting and leveraging the pump awkwardly downward to pour, as spills are very easy. A faucet located near the bottom would make this a perfect product. I would gladly review and recommend this to anyone and also advocate the purchase of an air-compressor if this product had an easy drainage method.

Pulls the oil out with ease, left about 200 mls in my car, I'll accept that. It struggled on my wife's car, the tube would not reach the bottom of the sump but I've used a crap one of these before so I have silicon tube that I attached to the tube that came with the "sucker" It settles in the hot oil into the bottom of the pan, job done. No more fighting on the ground with a sump plug, I'm getting too old for that and I've got four (family) cars to look after.

This is absolutely the best automotive tool I have ever purchased. The only negative to this product is that the hoses are made of a harder plastic and become less malleable at colder temperatures, so be careful not to break them. Perhaps EWK can make a more flexible hose for those conditions. I found it helped to preheat the hoses to eliminate any memory in the bend from packaging. My only regret is that I did not purchase this a decade ago. Oil changes done in under 20 mins without going under the car. Looking forward to doing the other fluids. For those looking for a video review, ChrisFix on Youtube is where I first saw this product, he has a review of this item under his 2023 must have mechanic gifts. Great work EWK on this product, it is exeptional. I recommend to spend the money and get one of these.
