Who didn't do it?
What would happen in a town full of serial killers? Nailbiter takes a look at a town where a large percentage of the population has become or has the potential to become serial killers. The most famous one was known for chewing the fingernails of his victims. After receiving a mysterious phone call from an old friend, FBI agent Nicholas Finch heads to Buckaroo, OR to find out what is going on. Upon arriving, he learns that his friend has gone missing and some strange incidents are occurring in town. Finch's search for his friend leads him deeper into the town history and an investigation into the proliferation of killers. This plays out like a cop drama in many ways. The main characters we see are associated with law enforcement or serial killers in some way. The town itself becomes a major character in the story. There are some twists along the way, which help move things along. One aspect that I particularly enjoyed is the unveiling of some of the killers from the town's past. Each one presents a unique MO and notoriety in the town. One of the residents even set up a shop dedicated to memorabilia from the killers. The art helps pull the story off quite a bit. I feel like it grounds things within a story that has the potential to be very over the top. The restraint with the art makes some of the twists much more effective.

A horror comic with real horror-movie feel....
This is possibly the first time a horror movie has been successfully translated to comic book form. Not that NAILBITER ever was a horror movie, but it certainly reads like one. There's definite "DON'T OPEN THE DOOR!" tension lurking on most of its pages, along with a quirky assortment of characters that make you wonder what secrets each one is hiding. There are a couple of places where you will think, "Seriously?" and wonder if the writer & artist have stepped over the line of willing suspension of disbelief, but the visceral effect of those scenes makes one forgive the unreality. I'm avidly waiting for the moment Volume 2 sinks below my price threshold so I can snap it up.

Nailbiter Brings the Terror
Nailbiter is one of my favorite comic series, so naturally I was thrilled when I found out they would be collecting the first two arcs into a beautiful hardcover. This book is gorgeous, just like the series itself. If you want some high-quality small-town terror that ramps up at a perfect pace, check this book out!

Great read but arrived damaged
The novel is absolutely beautiful, pages are glossy and colored wonderfully. It’s a pretty solid read, interesting mystery and is well written in my opinion. Good addition for any horror buff and keeps you engaged. Why the three stars? Because I received it with denting on the binding, corners, and cover of it. There were scratches on the cover of the book and the packaging was in shambles. Now, I understand that it passed through many hands before arriving on my doorstep but this item is a hardcover edition and should have been treated as such. That was the point in my spending extra money to get the special hardcover. If you know your products have a rough journey ahead of them take better care when packaging. Bubble wrap, maybe thicker plastic around the novel, cushioned envelope, something.

Very good for crime lovers
I decided to pick this up because of a recommendation from a fellow comic fan and if you enjoy true crime and don't mind blood this would be right up your alley.

Pretty Good
This book has a pretty interesting concept: why have so many serial killers come from one place? The book is very well written, the characters are diverse and intriguing. And the serial killers in the story are all unique and have their own morbid obsessions. This first volume sets up the mystery of the story very well, and does a really good job of drawing the reader in. The art, to me, was the weak point. It was still really good, but I had a few issues with it. Some of the panels were erratic and sloppy, and their were inconsistencies with some of the characters. I would recommend this to fans of the creative team, and fans of serial killer/ mystery stories.

Unusually unique. Very Creepy. Never boring. Joshua Williamson can be placed along side Ray Fawkes and Steve Niles and the new Archie line when it comes to writing Horror in the comics.

Excellent book and such a cool story. 16 killers have been born and bred in buckaroo. The question is, why buckaroo? Well that's the mystery everybody is trying to solve. The story flows a fast pace and there is never a dull moment. Each mentioned serial killer is a fascinating one. The hardcover edition is impressive, larger artwork and plenty of extras. I recommend picking this up if you are a fan of Dexter and a fan of the crime/horror genre.

Bem melhor do que eu esperava, realmente. A arte é bem bonita e a estória não é ruim. Bem bom

Disfruté mucho la lectura. Me sentí inmerso en la historia del asesino Nailbiter y el trabajo detectivezco de los personajes, además, el arte visual es bastante atractivo. Necesito comprar los siguientes volúmenes para saber qué pasa después.
