Learned about using one of these in Mexico while at a cooking school and couldn't wait to get back to get one to use at home. Perfect. Just like the one we used during class.

LOVE IT! Got it quickly and it was exactly as described. Came with great instructions on how to prepare it, cure it, and care for it. Didn't take long to do the preparation and it's curing as I write this. It created a paste quickly with little effort on my part. I just love it. It's heavy though, so be prepared for that. Love how it's hand carved. Really, it's quite nice. Am thinking of getting them for Christmas presents. I've added photos. Photo one show's me preparing the molcajete by grinding rice and water. The second photo shows the second time I do this and what it looks like at the beginning of the preparation. I only had to do this prep two times as my rice and water stayed white the second time around. All in all the prep took about a half hour. The third picture shows the pico de gallo I made in the bowl. The fourth one shows the ingredients for the "curing" of the molcajete and the last one shows the paste that was made from those ingredients. Which took no time at all by the way, I love how quickly and easily I can make a paste out of garlic and herbs. The directions say to leave the curing ingredients in it overnight, so that's what I'm doing. All in all I'm extremely happy with my purchase and would absolutely recommend it.
