A MUST READ for dentists who want to successfully transition their practice when they retire!
I highly recommend this book to all dentists who are planning for their eventual retirement! I have worked with many dentists in my wealth management practice, and this is the most complete guide I have seen when it comes to planning for your practice transition upon your retirement. Brian covers every detail you need to think about when it comes to the choices you have and the decision you will need to make. Proper planning is the best thing you can do to get the maximum value out of the practice you've built. The only thing that's missing from this book is an in-depth exploration of "what's next" once you finally sell your practice. Brian does a great job pointing out the emotional aspects of a practice sale, but it's critical to think about what you are retiring TO. To be fair, this is beyond the scope of this book and for more information on this topic I would highly recommend the book, "Retirement Stepping Stones" by Tony Hixon. Together, these two books will give you everything you need to begin exploring a successful transition into retirement.

Best Book from the Foremost Experts in Dental Transitions!
I am an attorney who practices in this industry and learned so much from this book that I didn't even know I needed to know. This book takes a practice owner through all the necessary steps to sell their practice, and every step is covered clearly with data and examples. It's clear Brian has a significant amount of experience to back up the information in this book. I thought the section on the legal side was especially good!

I’ve done thousands of dental transitions and this is a great book for any potential seller to read
Working in the industry, I keep a close eye on what advice dentists are receiving when considering selling their dental practice. This is the best book on the subject I’ve read. Brian and Randon are honest about what actually happens and the pitfalls to avoid. I also appreciate that they actually published real data (!!!) on practice sale price points. This is the book I will be recommending to dentists who are thinking about a sale.

My dad is the seller
I read this because my dad is selling his dental practice and I am in dental school so I thought it would be a good time to learn the process of selling a practice to help preserve our relationship without making negotiations weird or uncomfortable when the time comes. This book did a really good job of laying out what is normal and to be expected, as well as where we could save money on fees. For example, right in the book it calls out situations like ours and explains how we probably don't need a traditional broker and lays out how best to handle our transition - so definitely not a sales book. Highly recommended to anyone!

All Dentists Should Read This
Really well-written summary on dental practice transitions. I liked that there was actual data included, as well as that the advice wasn't “salesy”. Anyone who tries to tell you one solution is best for everyone doesn't really understand how these work. This book covers multiple exit strategies and provides the process roadmap to make it happen. Great book.

Extremely Helpful
Very readable and very clear. The author is very knowledgeable and is able to break it down in away that makes it easy to understand. I found the section on pricing really illuminating because it pulled back the curtain on the art of valuing a practice. I feel like i am prepared when the time comes to sell. Highly Recommended.

Finally! A book that’s helpful and not a sales pitch
I just finished this and found it incredibly useful. I’ve had a hard time finding one place with all the steps and considerations for selling my practice. All the info was clear, appeared to be unbiased, and even raised a few issues I hadn’t considered. I loved that it wasn’t a hidden sales pitch in book form. Highly recommend!
