Visitor's Guide to the Bahamas - The Collection: Three Books in One: Visitor's Guides to Nassau; Grand Bahama; The Out Islands

This book had some good information in it, but some of it needed serious updating. It was still recommending a beach restaurant in Freeport that had been destroyed in the 2004 hurricanes. It also highly recommended a Smiling Pat snorkeling day trip, but never included any of the information to contact her. After asking many people, we found out that she is no longer in the business. The information about the parks and the sights was informative and accurate. We only went to Freeport so we only used that section of the book.

Got the book because it indicated it had reviews and recommendations for hotels and dining in Nassau. Unfortunately, it doesn't. It is apparently a compilation of three guides that have been published separately and then combined into this guide. Somewhere in the editing both the accommodation and dining sections for Nassau (if they ever existed) were deleted from the 5th Edition. I sent an email to the author (he indicates in his book that he will answer all emails) but have not received a reply. If you're looking for beaches, this might be a good guide, but if you want food or a room in Nassau, you'll need to buy another guide.

Not a great book - had some useful information but never enough detail and I felt there was a lot missing. Luckily we had access to wifi as it was necessary to search online for any information such as contact details, costs, locations etc.
