From the ... - This thing is nothing but pure AWESOMENESS. From the art to the stories to the atmosphere, all of it just screams QUALITY. The most compelling story, I found in this series was Shockwave. I know from Transformers Prime and the original G1 Cartoon that Shockwave was a cold, detached, and calculating Decepticon, but his story here gives you a new reason to fear him. He has this ability to make anger and rage sound even more terrifying. His thought process only makes this all the more interesting. Megatron's story is also quite fascinating, and it gives you a new reason to sympathize with his reasons as to why he believes in violence and overthrowing the caste system on Cybertron. Even if the methods are not agreeable, you understand exactly where he's coming from as a former slave turned revolutionary. Those are just two stories. GO READ THEM. Review: A beautiful book. - Very nice book that holds 16 Transformers comics all in order. The art is beautiful. The book is 11 inches tall so you get nice large easy to see and read pages. I was a little sad when I ordered this thinking I would miss out on the cover art of the comics but each comic starts with it's cover so nothing is lost. I have never been interested in comics before but the art of IDW pulled me in and I love Transformers. What makes these collection books so good is it puts all of the comics in the series in order for you so your not confused where to start. I will be collecting more of these.

Definitive IDW collection at awesome value for money!
IDW took over the rights to Transformers in 2005 after Dreamwave filed for bankruptcy. Whilst the comics since then have oftentimes been variable in quality, the fact that the company has carried the torch and kept fans supplied with an ongoing story cannot be denied. I was rapt when IDW announced production of the Collection volumes, and even more impressed when I got the product in hand. The volume is beautifully packaged, with gloss over the spine and matte surfacing over the cover art. IDW will be the first to state that the comics are not bound in strict chronological order, but rather in an order where the story can be best appreciated - and I must say it's hard to disagree with the choice so far. Volume 1 is an excellent compilation of Megatron Origin, six Spotlights, and Infiltration. It kicks of the IDW Collection series with a bang, and with value for money that is almost impossible to beat (especially coming form Australia!!). For those who have not gotten into Transformers IDW, there is simply no better way to start! Whilst individual comic reviews can be found elsewhere, for completeness here is my take on those included here (Both numbers out of 10, first # Art, second # Story): Megatron Origin - 7/9 Infiltration - 7/9 Spotlights: Blurr - 8/7 Cliffjumper - 8/8 Shockwave - 7/6 Nightbeat - 5/6 Hot Rod - 7/8 Soundwave - 7/7

Truly amazing and intense. Dark and mysterious, it has become my favorite universe of Transformers so far!
The stories are super fantastic and filled with a lot of interesting things and feels you don't get from the cartoons. This definitely has a Generation One feel to it! I feel that the stories are much darker than any tv show I have ever seen from transformers. I enjoyed it so much I have decided to buy the entire series to this! My favorite are obviously the main plot stories, but I also enjoyed the Spotlight:Nightbeat. He's gotta be a favorite now! His story was so intense for me and the dialog was incredible. It made me feel like I was reading a crime novel! It had some mystery and an urge to know more about what happened to him. If you're an old G1 fan like I am and miss those old characters, this is the book series to get! Don't pass this one up!

What can I say? Its "more than meets the eye"! (I was too excited and bought all the Seven volumes available)
And YES, It is a must for every transformers fan. Pages are in impecable condition. It even has a foreword from the artists in the beginning. And for all those thinking there are no cover arts. YES they are IN there. I love the hard covers of each Volume. A Decepticon / Autobot stands out with its massive bust. Way cool. My only hope if they would release the G1 Comic Encyclopedia again MTMTE Volumes, and in this very way. (But thats another story) --------------- About the shippment. I am from Chile and I requested this comic through Amazon. The comics did arrive in the nick of time (even earlier than I expected) and in impecable condition. So.. Five Stars for this. .............. One important notice. For all you transformers fans. I would highly recommend to buy these editions now. They are invaluable. If you wait too long (maybe a couple of years), maybe its value would raise too much and two things might happen. I will be out of stock! You might find it for an absurd price like it happened on the More Than Meets the Eye Transformer encyclopedia. (Right now the prices is very reasonable). And I will end once again. It's very much worth it.

Perfect conditions
It looks amazing, I love hard covers, and the pages are really bright, I really think the price is fair, if you're starting on Trasformers story I recommend this book.

High quality book and makes a great gift for Transformer fans
The first thing I noticed about this book is the high production quality. The hardcover is thick and sturdy with a build in ribbon book mark. The pages are thick, smooth and glossy. The spine binding is solid. I also like how IDW presented the stories in a reading order. The introduction did say that this is their preferred reading order. Since I have not read of Transformer comics since Marvel's original run in the 80s, I had no idea about this series so having a reading order is a definite plus. The art is fantastic and so far, my favorite is Spotlight: Shockwave which features Shockwave and the Dinobots (my favorite characters). It is on the pricey but the quality and staying power of the book is worth it.

Transform and Roll Out!
Great art and awesome stories. IDW did a great job. The Decepticons have a legitimate beef with the Autobots. I can see why the uprising happened in the first place. I want to see where this all leads.

Tolle Bücher aber die Verpackung für den Versand könnte besser sein. Diese war so spärlich das die Bücher oft mit Schäden angekommen sind…

This IDW collection of Phase One of Transformers, as a die-hard TF fan since I was 4 in 1987 when I got my first Transformer in Blurr, is pure majesty. It is a tale of what long time Transformers fans have craved. A modern (as in 2006) re-imaging of G1 that is written more for long time fans that is 100% new and fresh. We do not start with the Ark crash landing on Earth, as an example. These stories started before Bayformers exploded, literally, on to the big screen. While the first movie was decent because it was at the time new, it missed a lot for a hardcore fan like me. And the following movies just got worse and worse. However IDW was there as a constant reminder of how awesome the Transformers IP can be if it is in the right hands. Simon Furman, long time TF fans will know that name, began this run and outside of Beast Wars a Transformers series has never been more compelling. The order these collections are presented in is an order that IDW believe will help the story flow from one story to the next, not the order that they were written and printed, with the One Shots adding depth to character backstory or moments to come. Sadly Furman left a few years into the run and from there we get a few rocky, inconsistent moments. But for the most part, this is the Transformers you will want in your life. So grab these before they roll out... (Sorry, I had to, I couldn't help myself...)

Pregiatissimo tomo cartonato!
