Worth it, not fishy
I do not understand the fishy taste or smell others have mentioned. None of the cans I’ve received in the last 12 months have smelled fishy or had a fishy taste (based on my son’s breath and the handful of times I tried it myself because he said his bottle/cup was stuck when it wasn’t lol). If anything, I think it does taste a little sweet (like breastmilk) compared to regular/whole milk. He has no issues taking this formula from day 1 with cold or room temp water - when we were combo feeding (sadly, I was a low supplier) or when we started solids. Our 5lb preemie is right on track developmentally and still drinks 4-16oz/day now at 20 months. I think of it like a nutritional drink supplement at this point since he’s usually a great eater and water drinker, but occasionally just wants to eat peas all day (or whatever other food he’s obsessed with in the moment). I did run into supply/backorder issues when I first started purchasing (summer/fall 2024) but no issues like that this year (2025). We’re expecting another next year and I plan to continue using even if I’m able to increase/maintain my supply this time around. It’s expensive, but others created so much more gastrointestinal upset. We just adjust our budget as much as possible to get what we need.

Yes, it's fishy, but it's oh so worth it!
Alright. We stayed away from whole milk formulas because the first one we gave our baby was horrible. I won't mention the brand, but it's a really good organic one that checks all the boxes in terms of healthy and safe. However, as a newborn that formula was just too strong for my baby to handle. Her poop became green and she broke out in bumps all over her body, not to mention the spit ups and fussiness. Anyways, that was it. I switched over to a hypoallergenic formula and our baby got much much better. Fast forward today 4 months later and I learned about Serenity and how it uses A2 dairy. All other formulas pretty much uses A1. I thought that was interesting so I decided to try Serenity, especially since it's ingredients are really good plus I watched lots of interviews with the founders, and their story is so epic. They really care about the ingredients and kids. Also no harmful seed oils. Also don't have to worry about high levels of heavy metals like other formulas. I decided to give serenity a try, even though I was still highly skeptical and wondering if I made the right choice. After all, we were traumatized by "whole milk" formulas. Serenity is a whole milk formula but with A2 not A1. Anyways the formula came, and like everyone else said it smelled fishy as heck. I mean wow. It smells fishy and nasty. However, we know it's good. Our high quality hypoallergenic European formula also smelled fishy. But again we wanted to change the formula because the european ones still use synthetic folic acid and seed oils. Long story short, we had to wean our baby onto the new formula. She was fussy at first a little bit. We started with 20% serenity and 80% breastmilk for a few days. Then 30% formula and 70% breastmilk for the 3rd day. And now we are doing about 40-50% serenity. Each day, our baby is getting better and just today she drank a bottle of 100% serenity with no problem. The smell did not deter our baby. And the fishy smell isn't because it's gone bad fyi... the fishy smell is good. It means it has good omega's in them. Anywho, Serenity is not causing any issues like the other whole milk formula did, so A2 definitely does make a difference, at least for our baby. She's sleeping peacefully as I write this review. So it's definitely worth checking out! I will be purchasing their foods too when our baby is old enough. Great company.

One year old would not drink it :(
I wanted SO SO SO badly for my 1 year old to love this product! The ingredients are unlike any other and exactly what we wanted without all of the things we didn’t want! He would NOT drink it. I don’t think it smells bad at all! We take a lot of vitamins and supplements so I really didn’t think it would be an issue for us but he spit it out multiple times. We tried it alone, mixed with breastmilk, in a bottle, in a cup, hot, cold, and all were a firm NOPE! He just did not like the flavor at all! So weird because he eats everything from seafood, sardines, veggies, raw butter and cheeses, etc! I’m very sad about this rejection! Highly recommend at least trying this formula but be cautious that some just don’t like the taste…. :(

High quality and well priced considering...
I LOVE this formula for my baby. The peace of mind that I'm giving him the best and not some dumb FDA approved seed oil formula, really takes away the heartbreak of not producing enough milk for him. I didn't notice the fishy smell until my husband pointed it out so obviously it's not overwhelming for me like others have reported. My baby takes it with no issue and we went through 3 other formulas before I realized that the only thing holding me back from a toddler formula with great ingredients was the FDA's stupid rule. This is truly a clean product for your baby. They get their milk from Alexandre Family farms which is a regenerative organic farm that specializes in A2 milk. They also use Algal Oil for DHA which is why you can smell a little fish. That tells me it's not overwhelmingly processed plus it's known to be better absorbed over fish oil. My baby poops very regularly as if he is breastfed. He does still spit up but it's not projectile and he was doing it with breast milk. He doesn't ever seem to be gassy or fussy so it's just a win all around. For what you are getting the price point is not the worst but my son has grown tremendously since he started so we seem to be buying more than I'd like to be.
