I can’t sing this books praises enough! A beautiful lesson in inclusivity and not hiding what makes you unique. Have used units book in the classroom numerous times. The illustrations are lovely. Deserves more than 5 stars.

Love how the story leaves readers to think what does the wings mean in the story. It’s a great book to encourage children to think about how they’re different from each other and that it’s perfectly normal to think or feel you’re different from others.A great book. Wish I read this book when I was a little kid.

Wonderful book. When you are vulnerable enough to enjoy being yourself, you inspire those around you to let their true colors show too.

I bought this for my 5 year old grandson at his request and he loved it.

This is a wonderfully written and beautifully illustrated book that tackles an important subject! I only wish I’d had it when my son was younger. I’m giving it to all the little people I know!

Two word synopsis: Be yourself👊🏻I read this book completely different than many reviewers and was surprised to see negative references to the character(s) being gay.👊🏻1. It never crossed my mind as an adult reader when I saw the little boy attempting to hide his wings that this might be a metaphorical reference.2. I don’t believe a child will get that reference. Even if a child would grab that reference, is that a bad thing?👊🏻3. The parents’ stalwart support of his individuality is what should be celebrated.👊🏻4. The fact that other children saw him remove his jacket cloaking his wings and gained the confidence to do so, too, is a beautiful thing.👊🏻5. Finding your voice-your path on a rocky terrain, truly being accepted by those whom you love, and serving as an example to others are all themes I can get behind.👊🏻6.
