Must-Have for Homemade Baby Food Recipes!
I absolutely love The Big Book of Organic Baby Food! I make videos on TikTok about baby recipes, and many of the ideas come straight from this book. It has been such a great resource for me as I prepare healthy meals for my little one. What I love most is that the recipes are simple, nutritious, and perfect for introducing solids. Many moms who follow me have tried these recipes too, and they’ve had great success with their babies enjoying them. I highly recommend this book to any parent starting complementary feeding—it’s a lifesaver!

Helpful for moms
This book helps me prepare my baby’s food and gives me ideas on what to give my 7 month old. It has a lot of food ideas from starting solids to toddler-approved healthy foods. It has simple instructions and is very straight-forward on the ingredients and preparation/process. I would gift this to a friend and family, especially to first time moms. Highly recommended book.

Great resource overall, but missing crucial information
This is a very informative book! I absolutely love it and highly recommend it. I think the only thing it’s missing is proper “chilling rules” and the proper way to reheat certain foods. What I mean is things like how long is the purée good for in the fridge? Freezer? What about after it’s been thawed? What are the different techniques to thaw the food properly and how does each method effect how long its good for? Aside from this, it’s truly an incredible resource!

Best book for baby food prep
We are getting ready to start solids. I was skeptical to buy this because I feel like recipe books are never what they seem. This one is amazing though! There’s a plethora of information. I really want to make homemade baby food to avoid the unknown and crazy costs of the store bought jars. I love that it explains the stages/age milestones, gives tips, storage recommendations, and even combination/seasoning options. I feel much more prepared for easing into solids with my little one. It also provides information on dietary restrictions!

Simple, Clear, Great Recipes
Provides great direction for foods by age group, introducing foods, common allergies, and kitchen tools needed. Each recipe will give you a nice amount - if you make a few different ones it can easily be a week of food prepped. She has directions for storing in the fridge and freezer. The first set of purées are the base recipes to reference for the following chapters. Even if you aren’t doing all organic, she has a list of the dirty dozen to aim for getting organic (but you can also google the most recent year’s dozen since it changes…). Great book that’s not overwhelming to try out. I definitely suggest getting the Cuisinart steamer pan combo for harder foods (it steaks them so fast). She suggests adding milk or water to thin it out, but I leave it thicker so I can freezer them and then adjust thickness once thawed (though my sweet potatoes did need a little water added before freezing) - make sure you buy DISTILLED water (every grocery store carries it, it’s just steam/distilled water…nursery water is a pricey joke). If you are using breastmilk to thin food out, I suggest only doing that just before preparing it for baby to eat - best to reference the CDC’s guidelines on breastmilk storage. I also suggest the haaka silicone freezer containers - the nine 1oz cubes are perfect for cooling in the fridge after making it, freezing overnight (don’t wait a day before going to the freezer), and then popping out of the container and putting in a labeled freezer bag.

Bought this for daughter in law who’s a new mum And weaning baby Leo . She’s massively into nutrition and real food and she was very impressed with this book. Which is praise indeed . From my point of view as the buyer , it looked packed with info and very colourful .

Love this book! it really answered all my questions since I have to start feeding my baby right in a pandemic. I can't really go to the class I wanted to go. And it definitely helped me learn more about what to buy and not too for myself and the rest of the family too. It's great, great recipes and answers all your questions.
