Our home is very old. Things change sizes with the seasons, and I was looking for a solution for air coming under our front door. A new threshold didn't function as well as I wanted, and this solution of "snapping down" seemed to be an opportunity.I built a little jig so I could use a circular saw to make multiple cuts on the bottom of our door to the right depth and width. Then I used a router for the lip on the door bottom. I used some very long trim screws (4) to secure the door bottom. I only had to cut off about an 1/8" of the door bottom to make it fit.Doesn't make the door hard to open or close, and I think I have my solution...while still having more adjustment left if necessary.
