Worked so well

Been taking this for a week now and havent got any significant results yet. Tablets are broken when i first opened the botlle and have to tip a fair bit of a dusty like powder. Seems like the bottle had been shaken causing the tablets to break and powdery inside.

Nothing much wrong with this Vit C formulation - well packaged, easy to swallow tablets, great high dose in one tablet (1000mg), reasonable pricing and a couple of complimentary additives which work synergistically with Vit C! That said, the most important point to consider before buying ANY Vit C supplement is the fact that it cannot be stored in the body and is easily and readily processed (meaning, it more or less goes straight through!). Therefore, anything that is not slow/timed release is going to result in a lot of waste and I reckon with these, of the 1000mg per tablet quoted, you'd get roughly 2-300mg in the body, with the rest being literally flushed down the toilet!! Boots sell a 500mg timed release formulation (£5 for 90), which even though you only get 90 tablets, taking two a day will give your body a lot more Vit C & ultimately will work out at far better value with far better results. For that reason alone, it's 3 max from me!

There are many versions of vitamin C on the market and the first thing I look out for is the dosage, with 1000mg (1 gram) being the optimum amount in my opinion - this supplement contains just that amount per tablet. The next thing to look for is the source of the vitamin C, as I think depending on the source the amount that the body absorbs will change, and this one contains vitamin C "from two different sources (Rosehips and Ascorbate) to optimize health and beauty benefits". I'm not sure how this impacts beauty but health for sure, and two different sources will optimise absorption. There are claims of skin whitening in the description, I can't comment on that, maybe combined with a healthy diet and water intake this will help reduce toxins in the body and give you healthier skin - but the way it is worded might imply different. I'm giving this product 4 stars. Be aware they are tablets not capsules and you can taste the citric flavour when you take these, perhaps slightly longer than you'd expect too.
