Bought as a present for my son. A great deal and it will last a long time.

Someone stole my hammer after 40 years! Oh I am so mad. I think my husband took my hammer and misplaced it like he always does! He never keeps his stuff in order! Anyway, I keep my own little tool box and have since I was a young single mom for years until I meet him.. haha. I had to replace my hammer. I love this because it was made in the USA. Finally a product on AMAZON that was made in USA. I loved the durability, the size, the length etc. I don't worry so much about the storage capacity but this time I hid it! It is a bit heavy for me but then I am a senior citizen. If I still had all that strength I had when I was young it would have been NO problem. I don't use it often enough to worry about it... I just wanted to replace it and this was a very nice replacement for the price!

Been using this hammer a bit around the ranch for various projects and it has proven to be my most comfortable hammer. It replaced a 40+ year old Deluge that had become essentially a flat face. Some framing projects entered the picture and I chose this hammer based on some reviews. The head is about the perfect weight, 21 ounces. The waffling is straight, true and sharp and has held up well compared to one I bought at a big box store that dulled the first time I used it. It drives nails well and the handle is shaped to allow for the full length to be used. So many hammers come with axe handles that need to be shaped, but this one just fits my hands. The head is balanced, the handle (on the one I received) is the correct grain orientation. The overall hammer looks nice as well. I was able to drive sinkers with only three hits, reminiscent of my Deluge...a full 3 ounces heavier. I tried the nail starting groove and it proved to hold things tightly and made starting a snap. I usually ignore that feature on modern hammers, but this one works and the alignment is just about perfect.
