Favorite watercolor pencils
I LOVE these pencils! I've tried a couple other brands of watercolor pencils and, surprisingly, it's good ol' Crayola that has been the best. The color goes on smooth and is much richer than the other brands. My only wish is that they made a larger set with a greater array of colors. I'm glad my 7-year-olds haven't questioned why I have my own pencils that I won't share with them...because I wouldn't, and then I'd feel like a jerk for refusing to share colored pencils with my kids. But these are awesome for coloring books, and I really like the look of coloring with the pencils and then running over it with a damp paintbrush. It looks much more artistic to me, and I've never considered myself artsy, so they're very fun to play with. I'll definitely stick with this brand when it's time to replace them. (Also, if you're buying any watercolor pencils for use in adult coloring books, the KUM AS2 pencil sharpener is a worthwhile investment. A little pricey, but you get MUCH more mileage out of your pencils and much finer points, which is useful for the tiny spaces often found in mandalas and such. Ok Set...Aqua keeps breaking
This is an ok set of watercolor pencils. The aqua is defective in my set. It broke right out of the box and everytime it is sharpened it breaks. So the watercolor paint in the casing is defective. The set doesn't provide a beige but it provides a salmon and peach which are very close in color. It doesn't provide a pink, but magenta, raspberry and red violent, again close in color. It doesn't include a light brown, but two types of grey. I couldn't get the white to show up on my watercolor paper, so not sure how it performs. If you look closely at the picture of the aqua pencil, you see the broken lead, for lack of a better term, and the lead in the pencil is bent. It will break when I use a hint of pressure 2 stars for the damaged pencil and color selection 4 stars for how nicely it picks up color and spreads with my waterbrush pen I won't purchase again, I will purchase a brand that doesn't break when sharpening or coloring/painting. UPDATED 5-21-2017 I have changed my mind and rating, and I will be purchasing a larger set of these watercolor pencils in the future. Although the aqua green keeps breaking when I sharpen it, I am able to use the broken tip, by wetting it and applying to my watercolor paper. I am able to achieve what I want. These colors are lovely when you wet the tip and lay down the color and when you apply the wet pencil over color. The intensity of the color changes. I have been working on this painting for several days. I discovered the peach works great as sand. And the peach, light grey and brown looks great on the rocks. I am a novice when it comes to watercolor painting and coloring. Working with these pencils and water brushes makes creating watercolor paintings mess free and with better control than working wirh pan paints, brushes and a cup of water.

Beautiful Colors
I love these water color pencils. I brought these to get a watercolor look when journaling and using adult coloring books. You get great quality for a reasonable price. I use them by coloring first then going over them with water using a paintbrush. The colors are beautiful and look great!

Great addition for the artist’s supply box!
Perfect for older kids, teens or adults who love the combined effects achieved with colored pencils that can be blended for a water color effect. Good for intricate and fine artwork or any artwork where softer and blended shading looks best! Good assortment of colors.

Recommend
Product works fine, not exactly what I was expecting but otherwise they work fine. They come already sharpened seem durable its just like holding a regular number two pencil and its the same size. Not exactly my thing but for those who do like it I do highly recommend the product it was perfect my only problem was it just turned out to be an art mediumni don't click with personaly but should not stop others from buying it. As it really did work great just as described

Tons of fun. They are sturdy and survive grandchildren well.
Arrived in better condition than most pencils -only one broken tip. I get these for the grands because they are sturdy and survive the abuse. Their favorite bit is water coloring, so they'll first (and nearly viciously) scribble a bunch of nonsense to get to the good stuff. Rarely do they break the tips. I can't draw decent stick people, and since there is no magic in the box, I still can't. But it's quite fun trying!
