I love it
The MimioTeach has worked well. Setup was easy. Not as expensive as other interactive boards and I can take it with me wherever I go. I like the MimioStudio software too. The math graph for graphing equations is really nice for showing my students how to graph the slope of a line.

Missing parts
I bought 3 of these thinking it would be complete. There is no stylus or hub. Very disappointed.

I'd opt for the SmartBoard any day!
I guess I was spoiled coming to Mimio from SmartBoards, which are superior in almost every way. The Mimio technology is slick: the pen uses a standard whiteboard and makes a quiet buzzing noise when you write (due to the pressure-sensitive tip), and the device uses the speed of sound to triangulate the pen's position. Neat! But these pens are very, very fragile. They're prone to breaking due to the brittle plastic they're made of, especially in the critical tip area. Once this part breaks, it's useless until you spend eighty or so bucks for a new pen. The software is another issue. SmartBoard's "notebook" software had so many more features than Mimio Notebook, that I essentially use the Mimio as a glorified whiteboard (with crude saved notebooks). The software is glitchy as well, often times it will duplicate the toolbar, giving you two sets of palettes, but only one works, and closing one toolbar often gets rid of both. The aspect ratio sometimes goes to widescreen literally right in the middle of a notebook file, and there's no way to get it to stop other than restarting the software. Another problem is the cartoon version of the Mimio sensor bar, which it projects on top of your notebook, obscuring the left margin. There is NO way to get rid of this large icon (which serves no purpose) other than attempting to restart, or possibly launch multiple versions of the notebook software. Very inconsistent and annoying. Lastly the design of the pen caddy is such that it recharges the pen when not in use, a positive. But you must put the pen in the caddy point-down, which causes an errant "click" almost every time, frequently with unwanted results (going to another page in your notebook, switching tools, etc). When the Mimio works, it works well, albeit with a bare-bones notebook software. But beware of the fragile pen and glitchy notebook.

The future of education at a reasonable price
This device will allow my students to be able to have a smartboard that can't be afforded otherwise. This will help to make a 21st century learning environment for those students. Thank you!

Great Teaching Tool
I've been using this system for over a year and love what it can do. I've never used a smartboard so cannot compare software. I love the pen system, but agree with other users that it is fragile. I use it all day long; I have students using it; it needs a better construction. I do use the notebooks extensively. There are many features that can make a lesson very interactive for example: reveal an answer that was hidden, matching items by drawing lines, moving items into their correct order, being able to clone an item for use in multiple places, grouping, animating, drawing perfect shapes, and much more. Due to the many things it will do, it does take some time to learn to use all its features, though I am still figuring out new ways to use the features. The mimoteach company has well designed tutorials to teach the features as well as live lessons to be part of. I have also made use of some of the lessons other teachers have contributed. (The thermometer is very helpful) My students enjoy the interactivity. I like being able to have a copy of the worksheet they are filling in up on the whiteboard among other things. I'm sure there is much more that I will still discover, but I highly recommend this system with the hope they are working on a better construction for the pen/stylus.

Great Tool, but Pen Needs to be Higher Quality
This board is great as a less expensive alternative to a Smart Board. I use another company's software with it (no, not SMART Notebook) so, I can't speak to how well the software works. I appreciate the ability to turn my white board into a board so I can use both and my space is not taken up by an actual board. The only thing I'm not fully satisfied with is the pen. It is fragile. I got mine to last 3 years, but I have had colleagues need to replace 3 in one year at $80 a pen.
