Excellent blister protection and callous reducer!! Easy to cut/shape and stays on great
I've been using this brand for maybe 4+ years already. During Covid I started walking a lot more to get groceries to get out of my place and walked in some very comfy sandals. But I developed a very bad blister on one spot. I saw a podiatrist and found out that due to my right hip I didn't walk with my right foot planting exactly straight and this slight off angle created friction with one of the sandal straps. So I found this product on Amazon.com and have used it ever since. I cut enough strips to pile them up in layers so that the valley in my big toe on my right foot is filled and the strap no longer rubs into the extended area of my big toe. Very easy to cut and place and it can stay on despite showers, etc for a week before I need to redo it. And comes off if you want to remove it. Now at most I get a little bit of a callous which is easily taken care of in the shower using a dried skin removal device and then applying some moisturizer. So definitely recommend highly!

Great for hiking. Worked for thru hiking for me.
I’m usually note prone to blisters but had a few thru hiking this summer plus many hot spots that wanted to blister. I used this to cover those hot spots. This stuff works great. Better than regular/thicker moleskin. If this wrinkles slightly, it’s no problem. Do that with regular moleskin and it can be super uncomfortable. It also stays in place. I ran out of this and had to use regular moleskin on the ball of my foot for a few days and it migrated, eventually wrinkling up and having to be removed. This stuff doesn’t migrate. It will also stay on for days as long as your feet stay reasonably dry. It doesn’t work well in wet conditions. If you are doing river crossings or showering, I wouldn’t count on it lasting. (Occasionally it will, but it’s not reliable that way.) Does fine with an ordinary amount of sweat and clamyness that comes with hiking. I generally could put some of this on at the beginning of a segment and it would last 3-6 days until my next town stop/shower.

Incredible, hard to remove
I needed bandages to protect my skin from getting blisters on my feet, and these bandages did just the trick!!! I purchased to wear while walking around Disney World. I am amazed at how long these lasted!! I walked more than 20,000 steps, swam in the pool and the bandage was holding on tight. The fabric did start to show signs of wear mid-day but I didn’t care, it prevented my skin from getting irritated from all the walking… now removing the bandage was not pleasant, after wearing from sun up to sun down it was still a struggle to remove.

Great for Preventing Blisters When Hiking!
I prefer this to thicker alternatives for hiking and backpacking. It's thin, lightweight, and remains in place if you're careful in the application. If you know you have areas that get blisters, this product will help protect those areas until the skin gets tougher; I generally use this early in the hiking season until my feel get tough enough to do long hikes without it. For hikes where you're feet are in boots all day I usually apply Tincture of Benzoine first and let it get tacky. Trim the knit to a size that covers the general area of your hot spot and cut it so that the patch you use is oval, without corners. If you notice the edges starting to become "unstuck" then just trim off that portion with your small scissors. It can be left in place for several days if you apply it correctly. Don't pull it off the affected area just to apply a fresh patch every day... you may damage or tear the skin. Another hint for hot spots while hiking is to take your shoes/boots off when you stop for lunch or anytime you're sitting for more that 20 minutes... it gives your feet and socks a chance to dry out. Reducing moisture will pay big dividends at the end of the day. I've been using this product about 25 years. If you're unsuccessful in preventing a bad blister, then discontinue using the Spenco Adhesive and start using the clear, breathable dressings like Johnson & Johnson Bioclusive. Use the Tincture of Benzoine again around the edges. In addition to better adhesion, the Benzoine dries the skin (it contains alcohol).

Excellent...
I hike quite a bit. Every once in a while my heel becomes quite agitated & twice blistered during long hikes. No real rhyme or reason to it but definitely a problem I would like to avoid. I tried these 2nd skins based on prior reviews & I was skeptical when they arrived based on how thin they felt. However, after using them myself twice & giving it to friends during hikes I've got to say these are really impressive. I applied them before several difficult, wet, rough, & dirty hikes & these have performed without issue. Halfway through a hike a friend developed a bad blister & she applied this to her ankle. It worked well even though it was applied to less than clean skin. It prevented the blister from getting worse & gave her more than enough comfort to finish our hike. I'm keeping these permanently in my hiking edc & my emergency kits. Well worth every penny. Easy to remove too with little to no residue from the adhesive. What did remain was easy to remove.

Works great, stays put
This product works great & actually sticks and stays where I put it! I use it for saddle sores when long distance biking. So far I haven't had to end a trip early. I recommend putting it on sooner than later like any blister patch.

The "Spenco 2nd Skin" is very hard to find in EU market. I was happy to receive it - quite cheap with quick delivery.

This item is no longer made in the UK which is very sad, I spoke to the UK manufacturer. I have used it for years especially for soft corns between the toes. It solves the problem completely. The adhesive knit is fine so it doesn't add width to the foot and it stays in place for days regardless of bathing. The last time I bought this item it cost £6.00. I recently saw it on eBay for £20.00 because it was being sent from the USA. There does not appear to be a similar alternative - I have asked in a few pharmacies. Maybe a chiropodist will know of an alternative?

The adhesive knit is very thin and durable, protecting my ankle bones from rubbing against the inside of my orthopaedic boots. Very easy to cut, which is good as I use a little strip on my big toe as well. Only thing I would say is a problem for anyone with fine motor control issues is peeling the knit from the paper backing can be a challenge. It would be nice if they left a bit of a border so it's easier to peel away.

Love this product for incipient blisters, chafing of shoes and blisters (use a little piece of tissue to cover wounds). So good because it stays in place for several days even with showering ! Also fantastic for splits at back of heels due to hard skin. Take it everywhere I go worldwide.
