I used this filter material in the filter of my tropical freshwater aquarium. I had a problem with green water algae infestation and after 5 days of use it had not made any difference. I then added a flocculant to the water and within a day the suspended algae had gone. Its good quality material but over priced especially as it does not filter as efficiently as the manufacturer claims.

This product works great! My green tank was 100% clear with a few hours. Way to cut to fit any filter. I will buy again when needed. Clean aquarium and happy fish. No water change needed which saved me time and extra work. ❤️

These are great. I use these pads (I cut them down to size) on my reef tanks. I love this product so much that I bought the three pack. It’s the last line of filtration in my AIO tanks. Next I plan on trying out their charcoal pads. A++

The big difference between this and other brands is that Aquatic Experts treats one side of the filter pad to reduce the chance of strands of the filter media coming loose. For other brands, you will annoyingly see strands of the filter media in your fish tank from time to time. Because the texture of the treated/untreated side is different, its easy to place the filter pad in the correct "direction". This means that this filter pad will last longer and can be reused a few times. I cut extra pads for my filter. When its time to change, I put in the newly cut pads into the canister and rinse the dirty pads and then soak them in a bleach solution which releases the dirt. With sufficient pre-filtering with fine filter wool, the pad has no problems lasting for 1 month+ (not sure why some reviews say theirs lasted only 2 weeks - not enough pre-filtering?)

This aquarium filter bundle is one of the best I've come across on Amazon in a long time. Don't let the high price fool you because you get tons of filter and one bag last me on my $135 gallon with the sump or months! That's incredible considering how well this filtration works at keeping your water pristine. Also these pads can be washed out and reused if they aren't really bad the first time around. Trust me I've been in the fish keeping business 20 plus years and this is a great bundle of filters keep your aquariums pristine and your fish healthy!!!
