Works great!
The first one I received wasn't working properly but before I could even send it back, BLKES reached out to me and offered to send a replacement, which arrived in two days! The replacement pump has been working PERFECTLY! I captured 22 gallons of rainwater when a thunderstorm passed by and since it came off the roof, it was cloudy and full of dirt accumulated over the past year. I ran all of it through this pump and it was as clear as tap water! I've been using it to water the plants in my greenhouse and they love it! If I go out into the desert, this will always go with me so I can filter any water source in an emergency. I know of some springs on some trails I walk and I've always wanted to try the water, but I wouldn't do so without first filtering it and this little guy gives me a mobile pump to do so! Awesome! Highly recommended!

I love this thing
You don't have to sit there and pump like with my old one, It has a light so you can set up in the dark, it has a pre-filter and a main filter which is awesome as my old one had a small piece of packing foam over the intake. It also serves as a power bank so you can charge other stuff with it. I walked away from mine and forgot about it for about 10 minutes or so and it not only overflowed the 2 gal container I was filling but it left a huge puddle under it and was still running. I used it in a pond and the water tasted fine.

Nice, powered filter device, easy to charge via USB
Nice, powered filter device, easy to charge via USB, filter works well. I use this to pump lake water into my RV as potable water. Takes about 15 minutes to filter 5 gallons and still has plenty of charge. Back flow the filter when done. Good to go.

Hose in filtered water
I haven't had it for very long but it appears (after a minor modification), it may be more convenient then the Sawyer squeeze. The Sawyer squeeze filters out water quite nicely also but you'd have to fill the bag then squeeze out the water through the filter every time. This gets tedious so I've decided to go with this electronic solution. The only problem is the hose is bare and if used without any modification, it would need to be cleaned quite frequently, as for with the original design, it will be immersed in the container where the freshwater will be filtering into. If the hose is contaminated, grimy, etc. (which I found can be quite easy especially with it being placed conveniently in the same bag as the intake hose), then the water doesn't seem so filtered. So what I did was print out a 3D clip so that I can clip the hose onto the lip of whichever container I'm having the water filter into so that it does not interact with the water whatsoever. I think they should consider this as a possible accessory to include with perhaps a future model. One may also search for one of those fish tank hose holders that would hold the hose in place as well. Is just seems like without this bit of accessory the act of filtering the water becomes rather tedious as you'd have to either prevent the outtake hose from becoming contaminated or you'd have to clean the hose quite frequently especially after it rubs up against something such as fabric, dirt among others.

Works great
I purchased this to filter cloudy lava lamp liquid. It worked perfectly. I removed the inside carbon filter before I used it so it wouldn’t destroy the liquid. And now my lava lamps are beautifully clear.

This was a life saver in Kenya!
We took two of these with us to Kenya and we didn’t get sick from filtered tap water. During our last trip my daughter chose to brush her teeth without filtering and lost 40 lbs because of Giardia parasite. That says it all. The filtered water tastes good too.

Trust previous reviews. Don't do it.
I read the reviews before I bought this that said the pump would automatically turn on by itself and you couldn't turn the light off or stop it from flashing. I assumed this was a fluke and not the norm. I was wrong. I ran the device for about 10 minutes after I purchased it to clean out the filter before taking it on a back country trip. It seemed to work okay, other than not producing a steady stream of water. After I took the hoses off and tried to charge it, it wouldn't show that it was charging. I turned the light on to make sure it wasn't completely dead, and then it completely malfunctioned. The light wouldn't turn back off and the pump would sporadically turn on. The light just kept flashing. I believe the issue is that although instructions tell you to fill the top cartidge area with water to prime the pump, water spills across the top once you put the cartridge back in and short circuits the electronics. The idea of this is great but the reality is that it is made too cheaply to actually work. Don't buy this. The description says that it's splash proof. It's been determined, this is a lie. In the end, I could not get it to turn off, despite putting it in front of a blow dryer for an hour. I had to sit it in the backyard for fear that it would burn my house down.

Won't last for very long.
I bought mine before a boundary water trip the first year we had it, it worked like a charm! This past year when we went the thing died on me. It was fully charged and wouldn't shut off. Or it would turn on and off and would randomly in the bag turn on. $80.00 wasted in my opinion. VERY disappointed.
