Works great. First winter with it. 300 gallon tank streaming in the cold. Works great through single digit temperatures . I'm sure it'll handle any weather it is given . For the reviews that say it leaks I would add they did not install it correctly. If installed right it does not leak at all.

I bought two of these to keep my horse's water ice free this past winter. They performed perfectly and did not cause a leak in the trough. I would purchase these again if I needed additional deicers. Easy to install and great funtionality.

I don’t often write reviews, but in north Texas, about an hour south of the Oklahoma border. We get extremely cold conditions from time to time in the winter. In the past I’ve chipped out the ice in the water troughs, so there would be water for my cows to drink. This year I invested in this trough heater, and it’s doing a fantastic job. I plugged it in two weeks ago, before the cold weather started. This morning is 9° outside my pond is frozen over, the other trough is frozen over, but the water is clear and unfrozen in this trough. It pairs amazingly well with the Rubbermaid 100 gallon plastic water trough , I highly recommend it. Another review that I read mentioned that they install it every spring and reinstall it early winter. I’m going to follow their recommendations, so it’s not in the trough all summer long in the heat we have down this way…

I have used these heaters through Many Montana winters. They usually last 3-5 yrs and due to GOK end up non-functional. So do all of the others I have tried. They are easy to put into the tank, work well with thermostat. They work out of water which I would rather they didn't, but have a temperature cut off. It is a major advantage to have this go through the water plug esp with young stock who may decide it is fun to pull out a floating heater or bite the cord and get electrocuted. I always keep a spare on hand.Considering the price, this heater is a very good investment.

Decent heaters. One broke and the company sent us a new one without question. Make sure you do not use a large vat of water with these. They are only meant for small amounts of water. If there is too much water, they will burn out because they never shut off.

These work very well to keep your animals water from freezing in the winter. Quality is good, doesn't make my tanks leak water. I have multiple of these around my farm. this size is perfect for Rubbermaid tanks.
