Overall great pack for day hikers!
I broke this pack in over the weekend after using a couple borrowed packs over the last year. In short, while no pack will ever be perfect, for me this one is sure close! The photo I provided of my gear is not everything I carry, but it’s the bulkier items or my must-haves. There is room for more than what is pictured! For short distances (4 miles and under) I love taking my camera and this pack is large enough I can pop in a camera insert that holds my camera body, two lenses, and extra small items like filters and a battery. For longer distances I prefer not to have that extra weight so I take out the insert and free up space for extra food and gear. I always have my hammock, rain jacket, water filtration system, head lamp, and other small items. This pack allows for all of that plus other essentials I may need. I use the small vertical-zippered pocket on the back to hold my phone so I can access it quickly for photos or to check my trail map. The front pocket ended up being a great place to stow my hiking poles when I needed free hands to climb up rocks. While some may find the nylon waist strap a little flimsy, this pack doesn’t really require anything more substantial in my opinion. I had my dog with me and just put his lead on the waist band, leaving me with free hands to hold my hiking poles. It worked wonderfully. Another complaint on other reviews is that the angled side pockets make them less than ideal for water bottles. I use 1L Smartwater bottles for backpacking and they fit well in the pockets. To keep them secure I just tuck them under the side straps. This pack does have a place to insert a water bladder and I may opt for that down the road if I feel it’s easier. I found the shoulder and chest straps simple to adjust and the pack was easy to get on and off. It has a lot of nice pockets and the backing gives it enough structure that it can be loaded easily. This also keeps everything in its place when filled and the pack rests nicely on the back. I kept much cooler than when I was using the borrowed backs that had no structure to allow for air flow. I am 5’2” with a small frame so this pack is a nice size. I probably wouldn’t recommend it for someone with broad shoulders or who has a long torso. One thing women might want to consider is the type of sports bra they wear. On day one I wore one that had some plastic pieces near the shoulders and those rubbed on me, but wearing a different sports bra solved that problem. Overall, I found this to be a wonderful daypack and as I play around with it and use it for hikes of varying difficulty and distance I believe I’ll find it to be pretty ideal!

The perfect all-around bag
So I've had this product for two days now and will update this review in the long term. But so far this is exactly what I was looking for. I originally bought the porter 30 serious but it was a bit bigger than I wanted so I sent it back. I must know that I'm a minimalist and really was looking for something that could function for a travel pack and and every day pack hiking pack, pretty much an all around pack and that's exactly what this is. The size for me at 20 liters is really great. Immediately when I received the item might get a test to see what I could fit in it. I was able to fit 2 pair of chinos, 1 thin sweater, 1 thick sweater, 2 long sleeve shirts, 2 short sleeve shirts, 2 shorts, 2 underwear, 2 socks, 1 tank top, to supplement bottles and tsa-approved quart size liquid bag, 12 in laptop and charger. it was a little tight in the miscellaneous compartments but the main compartment could have fit probably one more shirt. So for me this is really perfect for any kind of travel I do as I travel light intend to wash my clothes in a sink. it also functions as the daypack for me with my tech job being able to bring my laptop and miscellaneous supplies. I'll soon test it out camping this summer. Overall the bag seams pretty quality build for the price. The straps are decently padded and pretty well sits on me and I'm a tall guy. my only complaint and this isn't enough to knock it down any stars as that the front organizational pocket could be a little better organized having a place for pens credit cards etc as opposed to to stretch pockets. Overall. I really like this bag so far.

Amazing Hiking Pack!
This backpack is amazing! I’ve been looking for a smaller pack that fits my 2L bladder and more for longer hikes as my 35L Nebula isn’t the best to hike with. As a pretty picky hiking gear gal, I’ve owned and tried a couple of different hydration backpacks before I settled this one. It looks great, is super comfortable, and fits quite a few things! Build: The build of this thing is solid. It actually has a bit of a frame on the back along with a mesh style so the backpack has great ventilation and holds a shape. I love the back because my previous hydration packs had no shape and when filled would end up slacking. This one when filled keeps its shape pretty well. Size: The size of this thing is deceiving! I use it as a daily pack and a hiking backpack and it fits all the stuff that I need. For hiking it’s fit a 32oz nalgene inside, a hat, a small first aid kit, baby wipes, extra socks, a shirt, and a 2L bladder filled with some room to spare! Quality: Compared to my Osprey Nebula backpack, I will say I was kinda worried about the quality of this backpack when I first touched it. The material feels a little thinner than the material on my Nebula but it’s still quality. I’ve used it on a couple hikes and there’s been no rips, scratches so far. It also looks great! There isn’t a bladder included but if you’re looking for a smaller pack that is durable, looks good, and has a design that is thoughtful and comfortable I’d get this one!

I just recently got this backpack and I love it. This is the perfect day pack and ...
I just recently got this backpack and I love it. This is the perfect day pack and I just recently took it on a 5 day trip to Boston. It is very light yet I can carry everything I need in it and it stays tight to the body during urban travel (ie on the metro train). The pack is very comfortable even when packed fairly full and it feels like you're wearing nothing. About the pockets, they are very loose, but I used some industrial strength velcro to keep them closed when I store things in them. I have also read of someone using diaper pins to take up the extra slack and make the pockets tighter (diaper pins don't come undone when baby moves). I used the diaper pins to hang bandanas on the mesh pockets to dry during a recent day/night hike. I have a 28 oz Klean Kantene that I put in the pocket and I attach the top of the bottle with a big carbiner to one of the compression straps and it stays in fine even when I turn the bag upside down. I am looking into getting a hydration bladder at some point... I'm glad I ordered the Daylite plus over the regular daylight@13L as I think it would have been too small. The Daylite Plus is the perfect size for light travel over the weekend or day pack out on short trips or hikes or commuting in an urban environment. I use this everyday along with an Patagonia Atom 8L bag, and an Osprey Porter 46 for longer adventures paired with an Osprey Stuff Pack...

Good backpack, small, light.
A little smaller than I thought it would be. The bag is very light, and I like all the straps. There are plenty of little pockets to separate your stuff into. I wish there was one more pocket inside somewhere with a zipper to keep my things super secure. Also, in agreement with some other reviews, the water bottle holders don't really seem to be able to hold water bottles (even small ones will slip out). You can use some of the straps and clips to hold them, but it's really inconvenient. The main pocket is a decent size. The laptop/hydration pack? sleeve is a little small (and it also makes the main compartment a little small), I manage to keep my 14" laptop in there with a little persuasion. The straps aren't the most padded, but I consider that to be a trade off for weight and it's still pretty comfortable. The buckles seem sturdy, and I like that there's both a small waist strap and a chest strap. I was a little worried about the color. But it's not too in-your-face. I took this backpack to Costa Rica for three months and used it everyday. It's stood up very well, with a little wear her and there but nothing substantial.

Very good day pack.
I love this pack. So far, it has held up quite well. I have taken it on two day hikes and have also used it as a EDC bag on occasion. On both hikes I intentionally over-packed to test it and to add weight for getting into shape. One could easily do a overnighter with this if you packed light. It works very well with a Platypus two liter hydration system, it is just the right height to fit the pocket. This is good because the mesh pockets are not well shaped for water bottles. They are also hard to reach. I think they work better for snacks, gloves, small items etc. I am 6' 4" and 280 pounds, and there is just enough adjustment that the pack fits well and does not look ridiculous. I love the way the chest strap slide all the way down to the bottom of the cushioned shoulder straps! If you are a big guy and need a good day pack, this is it. The air flow system is awesome and really works. I would take a star for the mesh side pockets, but the bag is supposed to be a slim day pack and able to slide under a seat or overhead I suppose and at this price point its hard to argue with the overall value.

Awesome
This backpack is perfect for hiking, travel, or everyday use. It is super comfy and you can barley tell you have it on. I stuffed this to the max with a laptop, clothes, shoes, and a bunch of other stuff and the weight was not a problem at all. The laptop sleeve is so nice. It is not bulky like other laptop sleeves in backpacks. There is also a hard metal/plastic protection piece on the bottom on the laptop sleeve that protects the laptop from banging too hard when setting down the backpack. My camel back hydration pack fit perfectly in the slot provided. The clips, strap, and zippers are so well built. I love how light and easy this bag is to use. I originally was not too excited about getting the black because it looks so basic, but when it came in the mail I was very pleased with how it looked. Not boring at all! This was my first Osprey product, but I will be buying more of their stuff now.

Very Pleased. Would totally buy again!
This pack is small and very comfortable. I primarily use it for my Bible and Sunday school materials. I sometimes use it to tote my computer and some other gear around. Occasionally, I use it for its intended use as a daypack when I am doing some local fishing with my travel rod. It fits all my gear with room to spare. It even supports a hydration kit. Look, its a 20L pack, so don't get me wrong - its very small. That said, on the inside it holds my complete hammock kit, my tarp kit, my mess kit, my flashlights and my footprint. On the outside it holds my camp chair, my rain jacket, my fishing gear and my first aid kit. Its an amazing little pack, but its not super water resistant and it doesn't come with a rain fly but other than that, its a solid buy.
