Maybelline New York Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick, Orange Obsession, 0.26 fl. oz.

I received this product to try, and while I'm not usually a big fan of "liquid" matte lip color, I was pleasantly surprised with the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid. First off, it is not so much a true liquid as more of a soft, mousse-like formula. It applies nicely, and it is easy to keep the product within the lip line thanks to its skinny, doe-foot style applicator. It is said that you can achieve two different looks by either applying one thin coat for a bold matte look, or two coats for a soft, creamy look. I tried this, and discovered that while applying one coat sparingly you have less of a chance of smudging, you really need two full coats to develop the true color. This lipcolor feels extremely comfortable on the lips - no dry, cracked lips - and as the color fades away it leaves a nice stain (especially the darker color). I received two shades, Nude Thrill and Rebel Red, and I am loving them both! The nude shade is perfect for everyday, while the red is bright and bold and perfect for adding some punch to your look. My only complaint is the scent..it's quite floral, like an old perfume...not really fruity, but sort of sweet. I prefer a true fruit or vanilla scent for lip products, but this floral fragrance is not horrible, just unexpected. Overall, I am very pleased with this product, and intend to purchase addition colors! Though this item was received free of cost to me, all opinions are my own and based solely on my experience with said product.

Nice color and stays on!

I tested out the shades Nude Flush (10) and Rebel Red (35). First off, the colors are true to how they appear in the packaging, something I have found hard to achieve in drugstore lip products. Nude Flush is a pinky-based nude and Rebel Red is a true red. Both colors went on easily, very hydrating and comfortable on the lips. However, with how comfortable they are, they do not last a long time. If you do any eating, drinking or anything that can involve transfer, the lip color will come off. The brighter/deeper colors do not go on pigmented with one swipe so you can't achieve the matte look as when you keep applying, it gives it a glossier finish. Even with the shades where you only need one swipe, it never fully drys down to a matte but is more of a demi-matte. While reapplying, it doesn't go on clumpy, however the frequency of needing to reapply makes it inconvenient. My biggest complaint however is the taste and smell. It's almost like having a bar of soap in your mouth and the taste/smell of it never goes away to the point I can only leave the product on for a few minutes. Overall, if the taste and smell doesn't bother you, they aren't bad for drugstore lip products but I can't handle it. I would much rather save up for a more high end product that I know is going to last longer. I did receive these products for free to review, and all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

I received the shades Nude Flush and Rebel Road for free from Influester. I LOVE liquid matte lipsticks and could not wait to try these even though they were Maybelline which is great drugstore makeup but their long lasting lip products have left me very sad in the past. These new vivid matte are the business though! My favorite shade is nude flush which is a nice soft pink. I don't really care for the rebel road which is like an orangey red but it's perf for the summer so whatever. The stuff is creamy and velvety and will not dry up your lips like most liquid matte's. However, I do recommend scraping 80% of lipstick off applicator before applying because all you need is a small amount or it will feel like a creamy mess on your face. It does NOT apply patchy, it last, and it feels great. It will "kiss and tell" though which is to say that you will leave hints of your lipstick on your coffee cup, etc but the color stains your lips so it's ok. It's easy to take off with make up remover and it's pretty affordable. I do give only four stars however because the applicator could use some serious work. It's too long and it creates the potential for a lot of wasted product. But for $8 I would buy nude flush for the rest of my life. It's one of my favorite lipsticks now, even compared to my KVD Lolita and my Too Faced Melted Mattes. If you're new to liquid mattes, just want a deal, or can never have enough, buy one of these colors. Oh but another reason for only 4 stars, get some more shades Maybelline! I want variety and I want it now!

The only catch is testing them and sharing your reviews of the products on your various social media outlets. My VoxBox this time (that’s what they call their packages) was from Maybelline. I received two different shades of their Vivid Matte Liquid, Rebel Red and Nude Blush. Let me just say, I’ve only tried these in my apartment, but I can’t wait to wear them out! One application and I’m already in love! Talk about crazy! They’re easy to apply with their application wands. They go on quite smoothly. Their wear is very soft. No stickiness like some liquid mattes I’ve tried. And the shades are SO vibrant! I didn’t wear them with liner like I do normally, but the Nude Flush didn’t look bad at all without it. With the Rebel Red I feel I personally need a liner under it. The shade doesn’t sit completely well with my complexion, but a liner under it should fix that swimmingly. I’d definitely give both these colors a 10/10! Can’t wait to try other shades from this line!

Color was pretty but it’s didn’t go on evenly had to apply several times to achieve a seamless look. I never reapplied so long lasting. One star bcz the product was wrapped with a large barcode sticker that was not a pleasing look was difficult to remove but also left the tube very sticky. Would never purchase a product like this again. That was very unnecessary. Feed back to not do that to satisfy customers.
